Honest John's Motoring Agony Column 15-12-2018 Part 1 20 Dec 2018 (Forum)
With regard to changing brake fluid the old fluid can be checked on a meter for water contamination at the garage. Saves an unnecessary expense if fluid is still ok. -

C3 Rear Hub Nut 20 Jul 2007 (Forum)
I want to check my rear brakes on my Citroen C3 - in the Haynes book it says to replace, as a matter of course, the dust cap and the hub nut (staked type) Is it REALLY necessary to replace these? Nut torques to 148ftlb then is staked. -

HJ's VW Phaeton review 21 May 2003 (Forum)
''On the other hand, if you need to brake from a massive speed on an uneven and partially loose surface, you will survive.'' ... so they've developed a luxury rally car ? I have to grow old - but I don't have to grow up -
Mk 3 1.9TDI VW Golf - Speedo playing up & Electrical lighting problems 23 Feb 2013 (Forum)
During the week it has happened again at random times but in addition it seems that occasionally both indicators are lighting up while indicating left or right (while not braking) and if my foot catches the brake pedal when getting out of the car I get the ‘lights on’ beep and the fog light indicator illuminates. Then on Monday I set off to work and quickly noticed that the speedo wasn’t working. -

Selling an old car 14 Aug 2006 (Forum)
First posting here. I have a G reg Fiesta on which the brakes have just failed . It is repairable but it is not economic to have a garage do it and no one here is mechanically minded. It does have an MOT but at the moment it is definitely not roadworthy . Is it legal for me to sell it in this condition? -

I have a 2005 ford mondeo TDCI, when driving at high speed the wheel shakes ever so slightly and when braking from high speed the wheel shakes a little more noticeably. Now, is this due to dodgy disks or tracking out of alignment? -

Dirt accumulation on alloys 1 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Can someone explain why my rear wheels get dirty faster than the fronts, despite the fact that most of the braking (and thus dirt fallout) takes place at the front? Admittedly much of the rear dirt seems to be road muck, but even so .. -
