Vauxhall Vectra C (2002 - 2008) - 07 1.9 EGR Valve - how long? 19 Feb 2009 (Forum)
My Vectra 1.9 CDTi SRi 150 Auto is currently at the main dealers [and has been for a week already] waiting for an EGR valve - a common fault by all accounts. Anyone know what the lead time on these things is, as Vauxhall have no idea? -

ldv gearbox and peugeot diesel 18 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Am i correct in thinking the LDV pilot is rwd and uses a peugeot 1.9 diesel engine. Is this the same as in the 405, 406 etc? Leading on from this do the HDI engines now in the 406 use the same gearboxes as the old 1.9 i.e are the bellhousings the same? does this mean it would be possible to put a HDI engine in an LDV van (albeit alot of work) -

maintenance free batteries 16 Oct 2003 (Forum)
I have noticed that with the onset of the cold weather the starter is cranking a little more slowly, leading me to believe that the battery power is down. I took the covers off the elements, expecting to be able to see the fluid levels, but couldn't see any fluid. Are you supposed to top up these types of batteries with distilled water? -

Omega V6 noisy idle after repair..... 1 Sep 2002 (Forum)
f=4&t=6165 He has had both rocker covers and gaskets replaced at local garage (from the good garage list). At the same time he took the opportunity to replace the HT leads and spark plugs and have the auto box's oil changed. The rocker covers/gaskets were sourced from Vauxhall's and the HT Leads and sparks were from Autovaux. All parts were supplied after the engine number was given so he's confident they were correct. -
Ford Fiesta - 1999 fiesta not idling properly and Misfiring too 14 Mar 2020 (Forum)
I have a T-Reg 1999 mk4 ford fiesta Zetec-S 1.25 16v At the moment my car is not idling very well and it also has a misfiring problem???? I have changed all the spark plugs and I have also put a new set of ignition leads(HT leads)on too!! Although this unfortunately has not made any change to the performance of my vehicle with regards to the idling situation nor has it had any effect to the misfiring situation either???? -
Bad Time to Buy a Used Mazda? 20 Mar 2016 (Forum)
We're lead to believe that new car sales figures have been breaking records for the last 3-4 years. We're also lead to believe that a increasing proportion of these sales are PCP deals (anything between 40% and 65% depending on where you lok!) -
Vauxhall Omega 2.6 V6 (51) - Vauxhall Omega 2.6 V6 suddenly running rough 3 Mar 2011 (Forum)
Also, there is a slight smell of petrol sometimes and a fair amount of white smoke. Not wanting to put suggestions into anyone but I have a hunch it could be a broken down HT lead of a failed plug but dont want to throw money after bad on a hunch as money is a bit of an issue right now for us as it is for many! Any way, is there any way to check before spending over 60 quid on leads and plugs? -
VW mk2 Golf 1300 transistorized ignition - Golf engine suddenly cuts out 16 Feb 2011 (Forum)

Vauxhall Astra G Diesel - Snapped Glow Plug (Again!!) 20 Sep 2010 (Forum)
Three Days later it has refused to start- RAC found that the GlowPlug Relay was at fault. More disconcerting is the glow plug lead flapping in the wind and half a glowplug sheared in the block. The previous owner must have known as it looks as if an easyout tool has been used (just like I did with my pug previously). (I did check -he must have soldered/glued the lead in place!!) -
Toyota Previa 2.4i 16v 2001 - Toyota Previa No Spark from Coil 2 Aug 2010 (Forum)
Hi all I have a Toyota Previa II 2.4i 16v 1991 which was running very ragged after 15 mins (or when warmed up). I was advised to get hold of a new coil and No. 1 HT lead, which I duly did and also I added a new battery. I fitted the battery first and then found that I couldn't get the car to start at all. Believing that the new power in the battery has possibly finished off the coil, I replaced the coil and HT lead and find that it still wont start. -
Renault Scenic (1999 - 2003) - 99 1.6 Car shuddering and jolting in every gear 12 May 2009 (Forum)
Even when going from 4th to 5th on the motorway the car still jumps and is not smooth. The only thing i can compare it too is when a HT lead is loose or split?? I have checked the leads and they appear to be in good order, the car has done 85,000 after a full engine rebuilt at 80,000 when the head gasget went. In the last 4 months the car has had a new exhaust front to back, a new oxigen sensor and a new catalistic converter all done in February this year. -
Ford Escort (1993 - 2000) - 1997 1.8 Rear brake shoes won't stay in line 21 Nov 2008 (Forum)
I have changed the offside shoes but when I refit the drum to the hub, the drum will only rotate freely through 180' before stopping with a clonk. When turning the drum the other way the same thing happens. I have figured out that the leading shoe is slipping downwards when I refit the drum, almost to the point that the top of the leading shoe has slid completely off the piston. I've checked, double checked and triple checked, and it appears I have assembled the brake shoes, springs, clips etc correctly. -
Ford Focus II (2004 - 2007) - 2003 1.8TDCi - reluctant to start when part warm 9 Jul 2008 (Forum)
Fault stayed intermittent for 6 months till it got so bad it had to be towed in to dealer again as I could not live with it. This time they found it (by accident) - it was a chaffed lead under the gearbox, lead which fed the fuel delivery system making occasional contact. I am hoping to sue the Dealer or Ford for the £1919-22 they charged me . Am I alone on this one - can any one advise how I proceed. -
Vectra Alternator 25 Apr 2007 (Forum)
The fuses are all fine, the Vectra starts okay but cuts out when the jump lead is removed. The battery does charge because if I leave it 'jumping' for while the car will run on it's own for a few minutes until the charge runs out. The Battery warning light was on but flared and went out, it now does not light up at ignition. -
Rover 420iS mystery 26 Oct 2006 (Forum)
So far for this problem we have:- > > Replaced leads & plugs > Run a compression test-all OK > Run a scan on the firing-all OK > Replaced manifold inlet gasket-due to air leak > Replaced injector seals (8)-1 damaged causing air leak > Gas treatment > Ran a test on swapping injector 1 with 2 (possible spray > deficiency)-all OK > > Still no resolution!
