Ford Focus RS - Damage caused by loose drain cover 14 Jun 2014 (Forum)
Hi, A loose drain cover on a council owned road has just caused damage to my tyre and my alloy wheel. I wasn't speeding, it was a 30mph road and I was doing the speed limit. As I am a bit precious about my car I am always careful to look at the road ahead in order to avoid the usual pot holes. -
Ford Focus & TSBs 28 Nov 2004 (Forum)
I was just about to give up and live with it until I read a Ford TSB that applied to my car that described this fault exactly. It basically means the aircon pump bracket needs to be re-aligned - not a job I want to do myself. My question is, would a Ford dealer carry out this job free as it is covered by a TSB or am I still liable for cost as theres no warranty? -

looking to buy a small SUV, Vitara or Tiguan 21 Aug 2023 (Forum)
Evening all I'm looking to change my current car, a Fabia to a small suv such as the Vitara from 2015 on or a late series 1 or early series 2 Tiguan. I only cover 12,000 miles at the most so diesel would be out for service, although I may consider looking at one as at the weekend I cover around 150 miles out and about with the dogs. -

Rusting on Mondeo Mk3 Hatch 11 Aug 2003 (Forum)
An area the size of my small finger nail has flaked away (still have it) with surface rust underneath. I have taken it to my local dealer who says its not covered under the 12 year warranty but would be under the 1 year paint warranty (car 19 months old). He has taken some photo's and will send the case to Ford to see if they will cover it. Any comments? Anyone else had this problem? -
Legal to have same car insured under two policies? 5 Jul 2011 (Forum)
My view is that it is not an issue in respect of having the same car insured twice, but would be fraud to make full claims against both insurers following such an insured event. In fact the insurers specifically cater for the same risk being covered under multiple policies with clauses such as "If at the time a claim is made under this policy any other policy exists that would cover the claim, we will pay only our share of the claim unless it says otherwise in this policy". -
Third party insurance help please 23 Sep 2008 (Forum)
I was injured also my passenger and my car is a write off. The driver of the car I hit was arrested for drink driving. I only have third part fire and theft cover plus legal cover. Okay that's the situation. My insurance company tell me they cannot make a claim off the third party on my behalf because I hit a stationary vehicle and as far as they are concerned it was my fault. -
Car insurance - £137 saved! 19 Aug 2005 (Forum)
I also noticed that £28 had crept in as well for "hire car cover". I decided to look around a few websites and came up with £259 which I was very pleased with. My BIL suggested I tried confused.com and I got it down to £223 with only a £50 excess and including legal cover, this is with Norwich Union through Peoples Choice. -
Overheating diesel toyota 16 Sep 2003 (Forum)
However, when taking the car for a long journey after one year after having the gasket replaced, the car overheated again. It happened after covering 2000 miles in two days; When on the German Autobahn coming back toward the UK I was in a queuing traffic jam two hours or so with the car moving at 5 mph the same happened. -

convertibles - wedding car insurance 13 Apr 2013 (Forum)
I always thought wedding/funeral car insurance was quite reasonable as you need hire for reward but not a hackney or private hire badge. Will your own insurer cover this or is a specialist broker required , and is it reasonable ? many thanks -
2006 Peugeot 307 SW 2.0 HDI 136 RHR 6 speed box - Clutch pedal springy at bottom of travel 19 Apr 2025 (Forum)
The clutch works fine but I'm about to do a 1500 miles trip in France visiting the my wife's family and don't want to get stranded without all the tools to change the clutch (breakdown cover only covers a repatriation up to the market value so the car would end being sc***ped in France). Thanks in advance Jon -
Honda Jazz - Beware! breakdown cover 1 Mar 2021 (Forum)
HI all,, I have my breakdown cover through my car insurance and thankfully have never had to use it until this week when I drove into a deep pothole. The tire must have deflated because the sound of the bang was typically wheel rim to ground. -
Skoda Octavia I (1998 - 2004) - extended warranty , worth it? 28 Jun 2009 (Forum)
I bought my 04 octavia 1.9tdi just on a year ago and have now done 26k miles in it with no problems at all - 2 services, a cambelt change and just put 2 new front tyres on with mpg at over 50mpg throughout. I bought it from a skoda dealer and had a full skoda warranty which included breakdown, euro cover and engine components etc. Pretty comprehensive and nice to have. I have now done 53k in it and have been offered an extension of the cover. This includes oily bits etc plus parts, labout and VAT without limit up to new price of the car plus roadside, recovery, onward travel and european cover. -
Advice on cancelling Breakdown Cover 3 Sep 2006 (Forum)
So, I picked up my shiny new car yesterday, complete with 12 mths RAC cover. Simple task for today - phone breakdown provider for my previous car and cancel the old policy, expecting a decent refund as it only commenced on 15 July.... -
Car Insurance 7 Jul 2016 (Forum)
This year no change in cover up by 37 quid. Bit of telephone batering and they would only give me a 17 notes reduction. Went on line to their site and after giving my life history and inside leg measurement lo and behold same cover £41 cheaper than their renewal quote and cheaper than last years premium.
