  • Add On Vehicle Computer 11 Nov 2007 (Forum)
As a result of trawling through the website mentioned in the 'Another Acetone Thread' I found this link: http://www.scangauge.com/ If your vehicle does not have one of those on board computers then this could be the toy for you. It seems to provide much more data than just fuel consumption and also shows fault codes which can be reset. All for $169.95 - So that should be about £85?? There are English agents. Or contact www.fullchatsreallyboredonasaturdaynight.com (only joking!)

And if I do a lot of motorway driving at about 70mph, can I try running them at the higher pressure to get better fuel economy? Cheers, David.

  • Chrysler Voyager speedo and rev needles 21 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Hi, Got problems with my 97 Chrysler Voyager SE 2ltr, my speedo and rev counter needles both have died, the odometer still clocks up the milage but neither needles move, I performed a test cycle by holding in the trip and trip reset buttons, this moved temp and fuel needles though high and low limits but the Speedo and Revs didn't move. Any ideas ???
  • Road Deaths Up 9 Feb 2007 (Forum)
Tucked away at the end of an article in today's Times about how the Driving Test is to have more emphasis on saving fuel/reducing emissions is the little nugget that road deaths have gobe up 33 in the last year. Nice to see those 'safety cameras' are doing their job so well! Unless of course you consider their job to be to tax motorists, in which case they are doing their job very well.
  • VW Golf MKIV air bleed valve 29 Jan 2007 (Forum)
My son has just changed the temp sensor on a 2001 MKIV DTI as the Vag Com reported it reading 12 degrees instead of 92 which explained the overfueling the strange fuel consumption figures. However although about 1/3 litre of water escaped the level in the header tank has not changed at all. Is there a air bleed nipple on this model and if so where is it. Regards Peter
  • First MOT 4 Jan 2007 (Forum)
I was thinking perhaps of taking it for a hard drive the night before. Do you think changing the oil might help? What about a fuel additive? And do the garages still rev the living daylights out of the poor engine to test it? Thanks

  • Different perspective 25 Sep 2006 (Forum)
I found it a bit depressing. They still seem firmly wedded to buying gas-guzzlers despite the clear indications that more fuel-efficient vehicles such as Japanese manufacturers supply are the way forward. I think Ford should be ditching their current range in favour of importing (or locally manufacturing) versions of their Euro lineup.
