Hi My Honda dealer says that the Jazz is built in Japan. He also says that the Jazz engine cam shaft has a belt drive. Is this correct? Many thanks

  • The perfect cheap used car 29 Sep 2025 (Forum)
First appraisal done now it’s on my drive and it’s in near perfect condition inside and out, drives exactly as it did when new and is genuinely vast inside. It managed more than 40mpg on the run home and is quieter and better on the road than the much more costly CRV it replaces.
  • Foreign named driver on insurance problems? 6 Sep 2025 (Forum)
Not sure what the best course of action would be regarding insurance. My initial thoughts was that because i'd be picking the car up and driving it home, plus i'd be traveling from my home to theirs (60 mile round trip plus whatever miles we did in Aberdeen) in order to take DIL out and get her familiarised with driving on the left, I'd register and insure it in my name initially, with her (and possibly Son depending on cost) as a named driver.
  • Zip merge? That'll be the day... 23 May 2025 (Forum)
https://www.honestjohn.co.uk/news/driving-1/2019-02/almost-three-quarters-of-drivers-dont-understand-this-simple-driving-manoeuvre/ No chance of changing the "I say, are you in the queue?" mindset, unfortunately. IMHO the offence of driving without due care and attention should be extended to selfish use of road space.
  • Never Received NIP 7 Mar 2025 (Forum)
However, I genuinely didn’t receive anything. I’ve confirmed with the DVLA that both my driving licence and vehicle logbook have the correct address recorded.   This has come as a huge shock. Up until now, my driving licence has been completely clean. I’m worried about how this will be viewed by my employer, as it could potentially affect my job.
  • Car insurance for newly passed 17 year old 24 Apr 2024 (Forum)
If he passes he is only going to be driving locally and to his weekend job, not even to college (bus is easier as it’s up the M6!). Does anyone have any experience and/or words of wisdom?
  • Diesel and DPF 2 Mar 2024 (Forum)
My question is if the incomplete regens are actually damaging the car I have at the moment if I continue to stop driving before the cycle is completed?   If not then I'll persevere for a while before looking to change, but if it's detrimental then I can speed that process up.
  • Narrow road, pavements and council 23 Feb 2024 (Forum)
However lately there has been more traffic along it in both directions as a new housing estate is being built plus other road works in the area. The catch is that we now get people driving along the pavement at speed as they pass a vehicle coming in the other direction. With some residents being at work you'll get them drive up the dropped kerb allowing access to one driveway, along the pavement and then down the other dropped kerb of another property.
  • 1.0/1.4 Tsi - Skoda Octavia 16 Nov 2023 (Forum)
It would seem the motoring press have the opinion that the1.0 litre 3 pot, even in a car the size of the Octavia, is adequate for everyday use, though for extended motorway driving the 1.4 is advised. We're firmly in the petrol camp, with annual mileage of 4-5K & most of that tends to be relatively local, with regular trips from Shropshire to the Welsh coast in the warmer summer months. l try to drive with consideration, sticking to speed limits & mechanical sympathy.
  • Using km/h speedo in UK 1 Oct 2023 (Forum)
When my new car came with a digital dashboard, I changed the speedometer from MPH to km/h as an experiment. Since then I kept it km/h and discovered following advantages. I can drive in 3 digits legally. Driving over 100 (km/h) is satisfying. It is possible to drive on motorways at 120 km/h (or 125 if you stretch it) without having to fear of getting ticket. Keeping track of posted speed limits is not an issue.
  • Choosing an SUV for long drives? 28 Jun 2023 (Forum)
Several dealers have told me petrol hybrid is the way to go, but I don’t see how they can maintain their top efficiency for long drives, as the battery surely has to deplete eventually. I am not sure what the petrol+electric mode is called in order to do further research. The CR-V 1.6L 2WD Diesel is the car I have done the most research into.
