Daewoo Korando - Jerky Auto Transmission 27 Sep 2012 (Forum)
The car is used only to tow a horse trailer and hasn't even done that for a few months, so I don't want to spend a lot on it but equally don't want to scrap it. The handbook says that the auto transmission and filter should never need its fluid changed. -
VW Golf MK6 - VW Golf MK6 clutch problems 19 Feb 2012 (Forum)
The car has just done 20000 miles when on Tuesday the car lost all gears all of the sudden. It was towed to the garage and the outcome is that the pressure relief plate has overheated and to replace it is going to cost just under £1000. This should not happen on a car of this age that is well looked after. -

New Van ? 29 Aug 2005 (Forum)
Most of my driving consists of very windy lanes and inclines coupled with farm trafic plus the odd motorway trip, so aceleration and tourque is a must. curently I am towing 1.5 tons with the isuzu however the extra space the van will provide should not make towing so frequent. I have driven hire SWB transit 280s and citroen relays and found both severly underpowered. -
New Mondeo as towcar - GrahamM 15 Feb 2003 (Forum)
Does anyone have any experience of towing with these two engines, please? One other point; HJ mentioned some time ago that early models had front seat problem - not kind to the coccyx, and plastic pins protruding through the padding. Any advice on what registrations/production runs to avoid here, please? -

Ford Focus 1.8 - Gear cables 12 Nov 2017 (Forum)
Broke down this morning with the car stuck in 3rd gear. The RAC diagnosed this as a broken selector cable and towed me to a garage. Gear stick goes backwards and forwards very smoothly but not at all sideways. Is this typical. Regards Peter -

I need to find out what the towing restrictions were for the old A class license with 7500kg entitlement or C1 C1+E. This licence was the green one before the 1990 Euro licence came in. Thanks -

warranty and independent services 1 Jan 2020 (Forum)
I have almost decided to keep my lease car. A Volvo XC60 D4 Geartronic. It has low mileage, has given no trouble and tows like a dream. Good price quoted by lease company which saves trawling around for another vehicle, paying VAT etc etc. Also newer diesels tend to be smaller engines, lighter bodies and are less effective for towing a decent size caravan. -
Ford Grand Tourneo Connect - Bonnet lock handle 8 Sep 2014 (Forum)
His power pack was then empty so he had to ask another camper to help start the car from my their's Two other issues noted: It looks impossible to remove the battery without dismantling the engine compartment These cars look like brilliant dog wagons and tow cars, but why do they have such abysmal towing weight limits? -
FIAT 500 - Transmission failure 7 Jun 2014 (Forum)
Hi, My FIAT 1.2 has a dualogic gearbox, it was fine in the last few years and recently all went down hill. First broken down in March this year, dashboard flashing with 'transmission failure' and car got tow to local garage to be fixed. They do a diagnostic test on it and found failure on hydraulic pump, so replaced that part, but they can't reprogram my car, so tow to FIAT dealer for reprogram, 4 days later it broken down again with dashboard flashing 'transmission failure'. -

Should I buy a 4X4 5 Mar 2007 (Forum)
I drive a Mazda 323 1.8sport, and love it. However I have two horses and would like to be able to tow a trailer as well as carry all the horse kit and feed and dogs etc that i seem to have piled in my mazda these days. So I think a 4x4 is an option but what to get.....! ( for £6500) I thought a Freelander TD4 - but seem to have reliability problems A shogin pinin seems not to have a good towing ability I do like to drive quite quickly but acceleration is more important than top speed, I have to admit for a little bit of boy racer.... so like alloys, side steps etc !
