  • 7 seater 22 Aug 2013 (Forum)
Neither of these seem to be made anymore and the only big one left seems to be the Chrysler GV which seems to be on its last legs (and is horrible for car tax with 207 gms of CO). Everyone seems to point to the S-Max. Does anyone have any ideas?  Need to get 3 kids in plus lots of luggage for fairly regular trips to Normandy and up north. Any ideas? Thanks Paul

I currently sell cars in an area called Ely and I love the job (in a partnership) At the moment things are quite slow because of christmas :/ Im paying £650.00 a month (sometimes £700 depending on experian checks) for Autotrader I am looking for an alternative place(s) to advertise my vehicles and still have the same amount if not better phonecalls. I have the average of 4-7 at a time and find Autotrader is far too high pricing Tried all the free sites and tried ebay where intrest is a minimum   Your input would be helful :)
  • Mazda 6 - Mazda 6 - any good? 10 Feb 2012 (Forum)
I have been a fan of the blue oval for many years, and my best car to date was my ST200. I need a diesel car for commuting (or a car on LPG) . I have been looking at Mazda 6's (due to price) and was wondering if they are a reliable car? Just to put it into context, the Mondeo has been mine for less than 6 months and has already eaten every penny of my savings. £700 has been put into it already.
  • Young drivers insurance. 1 Nov 2011 (Forum)
My Cost Centre 2 who is 18 is wanting to learn to drive and the insurance quotes we have been getting have been ludicrous. He even got one for £11K the other day for a 90,s Panda 1.0. Were can I get  some ideas on what are the real cheapest cars to insure, most reliable, cheapest easiest to maintain etc etc? Does anyone know of a broker or insurance company who will take on learner drivers in their own car and then NOT load the insurance once they have passed?

  • Volvo V70 - Different Specification 2 Dec 2010 (Forum)
I have recently purchased a 2002 Volvo V70 SE fitted with the 140bhp petrol engine. The log book came back today from the DVLA and it is listed as a V70 S 20v. I have a feeling this is the 170bhp version whereas mine has only 10v. If this is the case I need to get it changed! It is very likely that the two previous owners have been paying too much for their insurance.

  • FIAT 500 pop 09 plate - Fiat 500 easy to steal?? can this be correct 21 Jun 2010 (Forum)
Hi, My understanding was that most modern cars have a thatcham 2 immobiiser transponder and are near impossible to steal (Unless they nick your keys) So I was a little supprised when I looked up my Mums Fiat 500 on the Thatcham link http://www.thatcham.org/nvsr/index.jsp?page=202&s=car  which only gives it 2 stars?? Can this be correct? Should I advice her on some additional security?   Many thanks Jlo
  • New car for Schumacher - guess postion Spanish GP 3 May 2010 (Forum)
http://www.planetf1.com/news/3213/6114741/Mercedes-introduce-new-car-to-fix-Schumacher What about Nico though who was doing quite well? • Trip to Koblenz or Bayeux 27 Apr 2010 (Forum)
Is Belgium cheaper? I could fill up on passing through on the return, or top off on the way out. It`s five years or so since we last went in that direction. Still not sure whether to run down to Bayeux instead....

hi all, just filled up a/con with gas at kwik fit, but air still no cooler so did'nt have to pay, but they did say your pump is working as it is going in and out (whatever that meens) there is a fast ticking sound from the engine on tick over and low revs but when you put your foot down a bit, you cannot hear it,  the sound comes from the o/s around the belt area and only lasts for 30 secs or so, on and off, could this be the same problem.............any ideas what i can try? thank you
  • Best - `bread and butter` petrol engine under 1.2 21 Jan 2010 (Forum)
OK let`s set some parameters. Assuming bought new (under £10,000) and considered over a 15yr life-span. Defining `best` 1) Servicing costs - to 150,000 miles and 15yrs 2) Known issues and likely repair costs 3) DIY - difficult, or easy.

  • Chassis drivers 2 Jan 2010 (Forum)
Most impressive were the modern type of bus with the engine at the rear but I also remember ' half cab ' Leylands and Bristols. Do they still do it, or is everything moved by transporter ?...I imagine H & S might have stopped the activity. Ted
  • Rust. 30 Dec 2009 (Forum)
The flipping jacking point had disappeared up inside the bodywork somewhere, and the car was slowly descending. Drat and double drat. The last time I saw such was when the N/S jacking point on an old Morris - a tubular affair with a rubber bung in the end to (try and) keep the muck out of it - actually fell off when a wheel was being changed.
  • Why no AWD saloon models from BMW and M-B? 1 Dec 2009 (Forum)
Why don't BMW and M-B bring the 4wd versions of their saloons/estates to the UK? In other parts of the world there are E Class, S Class, 3 and 5 series with 4wd, but not here. Is it that the cars would be too expensive for the market, LHD/RHD integration problems or not wanting to cannibalise sales of X3,X5 and ML? Perhaps it's all of those and factors and more, anyone have a more definite idea?
