Focus 1.6 zetec auto - 2006 Ford Focus Not Always Start(?) 15 Apr 2017 (Forum)
I have tried both keys and it happens on either of them so its not a key fault. Being an auto, i was told by ford garage it could be a dodgy car battery/alternator or starter motor. Has anyonr else experianced the same issue as me? To confirm its a Focus 1.6 zetec automatic 2006 model. And its only done 87k miles. Any ideas or anything to help me would be appreciated. -

Clio 1.2 RL No fuel or Spark 29 Sep 2016 (Forum)
It has been laid up for 2 years and has been started every couple of months. Recently after charging the battery and washing the engine bay (why???) it failed to start. I squirted WD40 liberally about (near map sensor) and the fuel pump relay started to fizz & click and it started. Happy with my achievments I left it assuming all was well. -
BMW 3-Series E46 (1998 - 2005) - 03 2.0 Engine Stopping/Cutting out at random 28 May 2016 (Forum)
When driving whether it be morning/night, engine from cold or after its warmed up, in any gear on any day will just cut out whilst on the move or at standstill. Before it goes i get a beep, then the battery light comes on along with the traction control light and the handbrake light which goes from red to yellow. Its been to my BMW dealer and they have charged me £270 to tell me they dont know what it is. -
Nissan Leaf Ford Modeo Lexus IS250 - 12k second hand commuter under 6k£ 20 Mar 2016 (Forum)
Recently I changed jobs and my comute went up to 60 miles per day - say 12000 miles per year. Can a Leaf do 12kmiles per year if I buy it with a 50kmiles old battery? After the AZ debacle seems that Nissan says 10kmiles is the upper yearly limit. I'd get a Leaf just because I can charge it for free, so within 3 years it pays for itself. If the Leaf isn't OK I hesitate between a Mondeo 2.0TDCi and a Lexus IS250 automatic. -

Ford Fiesta - Stiff clutch pedal, recently bought 18 Jan 2016 (Forum)
Now after 3 weeks urban traffic, she needs pain killers for agony in foot. Have to go back to dealer (again, after battery failure within 3 days) to convince them to repair or replace the clutch or whatever is needed. Phone calls to repair desk suggest they are reluctant to do anything, and prefer her to swap to automatic model. -
Ford Galaxy (2006 - ) - 2005 1.9TD Fuse box burning out 21 Nov 2015 (Forum)
Hello backroomers, I've have a recurring problem with my Galaxy and would appreciate some feedback. I am now on the 4th fuse box unit, it's the one beside the battery and it's the same terminal that melts each time where the lead runs in from the alternator. Ford replaced the first one as it was under warranty but that went 9 months later last November and I've just replaced it again. -
Vauxhall Vectra (1.8 i 16v LS 5dr) - Where is the transponder chip? 9 Nov 2015 (Forum)
Led lights flash on button press. Now, I thought I might have dropped the transponder chip when I was changing battery in Key 2. I looked at the key barrel but could not find anything looking like a transponder chip. I then decided to look at the barrel of the working Key 1, could't find any transponder chip in the Key 1 barrel as well. -
Ford Mondeo - Starting Problem/Traction control problem 15 Sep 2015 (Forum)
We have a 1.8 tdci 2007 Mondeo, it's just had a full service and just passed it's Mot but a few days after it wouldn't start in the morning even tho the battery was fine, we managed to get it started and brought it back to Ford who said there wasn't any faults showing and it was starting every time, we thought okay problem solved but then it happened again, its now happening nearly every morning, the funny thing is we discovered if you try a few different combinations of locking unlocking the car all if a sudden it will then start when ya turn the key. -
x type 2005 2 litre sports diesel - Fix or Sell xtype 2005. New to forum 27 Jul 2015 (Forum)
It began cutting out under load and will restart. Also occasionally after a short journey it won't turn over although my battery has tested as good. A local garage has offered to replace my injectors for £450 and if my problems aren't solved they will put my old ones back in and charge £50 total. I paid £5,800 in 2006 and reckon it is worth around £1500 now. -

Volkswagen Polo 1.4 FSi 53 Reg - Vw Polo 1.4 FSi cutting out/idling problem 14 Feb 2015 (Forum)
Hello, had this car about 7-8 months now. 2 months ago it started cutting out when when coming to a stop at a junction, the only dash light that would come on was the battery light. Sometimes you could rescue the car by giving it some revs, sometimes now. Got the problem sorted for a good few weeks (replaced a fuel injector and NOx sensor). However, the problem started again less than two weeks ago. -
Peugeot 1007 - Peugeot 1007 Dead Locked 17 Sep 2014 (Forum)
Hi. I have a 2005 Peugeot 1007 that is dead locked possibly with a dead battery. The key will not electrically or manually open the doors. I have seen suggestions that you can jack the car up to remove the engine cover and connect jump leads to the starter motor to start it or get the electrics working and open the doors. -
VW Polo Classic Formel C (1986) - Cutting Out 10 May 2014 (Forum)
He has stripped the Pierburg Carb and renewed the gaskets. Servicing has been done etc. Battery is new. It starts well and quickly, but I consider it now too danfgerous to drive. Last repair done by Vw Agents on the Carb took over a month cost £300+ and broke dowmn within two weeks. -
Peugeot 307 sw 136bhp 06 model - Key Fob stopped working when in ignition. 3 Nov 2013 (Forum)
On turning the key in the ignition an audible alarm sounded and the engine would not start the car. It still worked the remote locking but not in the ignition. I was told the key fob battery might need changing so i changed it, but no different. I have also tried reprogramming the key fob but it is still the same. As luck had it I tried the spare and the car started so I stuck with that one, it doesn't work the central locking but I can live with that. -
Vauxhall 2.2 SRI ON A 53 PLATE - STARTING ISSUES 3 Nov 2013 (Forum)
All i get is a little clicking noise from the glove box area ( car wont even turn over) and the car and spanner on the dash flashes. i've changed the battery and had a diognostic on it which shows up immobiliser codes. The strange part of this problem is, It does eventually start ( after anything from 10 mins to a hour of trying, depending on the weather) and if the car has been run for a while or been heated enough by the sun the problem goes away untill the car has been left standing for a while or over night and cooled down again. -
ford focus 2005 1.6 TDCI - crankshaft pulley replaced, came off again.. help! 1 Jul 2013 (Forum)
about 6 weeks ago we replaced the crankshaft pulley, yesterday i drove down the road and heard a clunk and the battery light came on, got the car home again, the crankshaft pulley bolt and belt had come off and were sitting on the underside engine cover thing, put it all back together again and started the engine but noticed the bolt was undoing itself again, so took it apart again, checked everything, all seemed fine, put back on tried to start the engine again and now it won't start, the crankshaft pulley is turning and the bolt does not appear to be undoing (hard to tell with the engine not actually starting) but cannot get it to start now.. my partner has done all work and is flummoxed, any help would be much appreciated, many thanks in advance -
Mercedes E200 - 1998 - Air conditioning 5 Jun 2013 (Forum)
The non-Mercedes pump has recently been replaced, but the aircon engineer then burnt out the box by Autosystem (assumed to be the control box?) The aircon engineer had not disconnected the battery when working on the aircon wiring)! This box is housed in the passenger foot-well. I need help please either 1. Sourcing a replacement Autosystem control box or 2. Finding someone who can repair said Autosystem control box or 3 .
