  not feeling as well as I did? when I first got in. When used for extended periods with the ECO [this means the air con is disabled] displayed the whole system is leaving us with exceptionally dry skin (even worse when you use the air con) and is causing us both to have breathing difficulties.

  I have a problem with my S reg micra, if I turn the interior fan to speed (4) it works fine but the lower speeds will not work. I have air con and if I turn the switch to (1) or any of the lower speeds the air con light will illuminate and I can hear the pump kick in but no fan movement. I assume there must be some type of resistor which reduces the fan voltage and reduce the fan speed but is that located on the fan?

    I have been very pleased that by giving the aircon a blast at least once a month right through the year, both still had effective air con despite never being re-gassed in over 11 years............until now. I notice that the aircon compressor clutch is not engaging when I press the button.  The fuse is OK, I haven't yet done any further electrical checks.

  Can anybody help? Recently my two and a half year old Vectra's air-con packed up. It is completely standard 07 plate SRI cdti 150 with @ 32,000 miles. I 'phoned the local Vauxhall garage & booked the car in to be looked at under warranty. They told me that the compressor condenser needed replacing, and that the part and labour would be covered under the original 3 year warranty.

  2.0 D4D model. Does anyone know, if the air con can be bypassed ? My aircon compressor is "rattling" on idle, but if I turn on the aircon the "rattling" stops. My mechanic tells me that its something to do with the pulley/ flanges on the aircon unit and the clutch mechanism then cuts out the rattling when it has "engaged".

  I wish to renew the anti-freeze in my 2001 sprinter before winter. The manual says: if it has an automatic climatisation system fitted......' (presume this means air-con) press the DEF button. As my vehicle does have air-con i presume it would have a DEF button, but cant find anyone who knows what this button looks like (or what it's for)- can anyone help please?

  Hi all My cooling fan been running now and then during the colder weather recently, usually when the air-con is on.Is this to keep the air-con 'bits' cool with it running so much ? • VW Golf Estate Climate control 5 Aug 2006 (Forum)
  My brother in law's 2002 Golf's climate control stopped working last night. With climate control on, both cooling fans in the engine compartment do not come on. Air-con technician checked and said air-con system does not need regassing. All fuses are okay. We have tried to access the climate control diagnosis mode without success. The car is currently in Kuala Lumpur and my brother in law needs to return to Singapore tomorrow and it's very hot!
• Peugeot 306 - flashing STOP 1 Sep 2003 (Forum)
  After a gentle front-end shunt on a roundabout which did little more than crack the no-plate, the STOP light on the dash flashed if the air-con was running. The air-con seemed to work OK, but after proper investigation I found that the bump had bent one of the radiator fans, causing it to jam. I presume that triggered the STOP lamp. Anyone know if this is a deliberate function?

    They now seem stumped as to what could be causing it.  As the air con does work at certain times we think the actual system must be ok as it will blow out air around 6 degrees C.  Does anyone have any ideas of what would cause this fault? Many thanks

  In the good old days (1980s) I used to drive Vauxhalls and the centre face vent was connected to the outside air. I could have toasty warm feet, demisted windscreen and cold air to breathe and keep me awake. Climate control, air con etc are all wonderful and I would not be without them but why is there no new car that can give fresh, external air, when the heaters etc are on?

  Constantly blowing out hot air from drivers side air outlet underneath the stearing wheel. All fans and air con are off but it is constantly blowing out hot air. Car is not over heating and engine coolant is filled correct levels.
