Ford Focus Estate - Auto '07' - Cut out - Worked when battery disconnected 24 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Turned engine off and tried to turn it over again and there was nothing. There was no turn over from the engine at all. The lights, radio and other electrics were all working. Called out my break down company. Mechanic checked the battery - Nil problems. He disconnected the battery and plugged back in and it worked. -
Citroen C3 - Central Locking Fault 27 Mar 2010 (Forum)
The AA mentioned going to citroen and getting them to have a look, as he says it could be the acutual central locking motor has gone caput, or its and ECU fault. he seems to think that its is related to the radio as we have had the simular problems before. Any ideas anybody before she commits herself at citroens will? thanks michael -
Mobile phones, a question. 10 Oct 2009 (Forum)
My new car has a built in Bluetooth connection from my phone to the radio. Quite brilliant to be able to speak and hear as if the other party was in the car. Up until now I've used the Lt Uhura earpiece thingy with my phone mounted on a cradle. However, the only time I need to touch my phone now is to make a call to a number which is not stored in the memory of the car. -
Ford Focus III (2008 - ) - 09 1.6 Audio Unit 16 Sep 2009 (Forum)
Hi All, A Few weeks ago, I have bought a nearly new Ford Focus 1.6 Zetec (registered on 09 March) with this unit integrated (Communications Pack (Advanced Navigation System with Radio/CD) with Bluetooth and USB 5" colour display, 6 speakers, SD memory card slot for data (e.g. music) exchange; navigation data on SD card and CD, Bluetooth and USB). In the Handbook (8M2J-19C 104-DA 05/08) there are 9 audio units displayed on page 4,5 but none represents the one in my car and there is no indication of any model/name anywhere on the unit. 1.Does anyone know what it is and how to find a correct manual? -
Vauxhall Astra H Sporthatch (2005 - ) - 05 1.6 key not unlocking immobiliser 28 Apr 2009 (Forum)
Considering it only happens 1/100 times. 2. Can anyone explain why its so intermitant. Could it be radio interfernce between the tranponder or something? I have no idea how it works. Basically Im afriad of taking it back, and them fobbing me off. -
Vauxhall Corsa C (2000 - 2006) - 02 1.0 Oil and performance problems - HELP! 14 Apr 2008 (Forum)
I know the timing chain is a bit rattly and it's on the things to do list. My really urgent problem is that the car ran fine until I left the radio on while working on it for the MOT and the battery ran flat. I charged it the next day. It is now running like a bag of bolts. There is a distinct dip in power when starting off almost to the point of it stalling if you do not keep the revs up and it now sounds like my blinking diesel Vectra. -
Rubbish Volvo advert 13 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Now, you might call me biased against Volvos (having been run over by one in the past), but I hope you'll forgive me if I have a rant about the latest Volvo advert on the radio. It's the one with the guy who gets a phone call while he's at the airport, and the first thing he does is launch into a monologue about how wonderful his XC90 is, until the caller asks how much it costs - at which point he gets all evasive and pretends his flight is taking off. -
Ford Fiesta Stereo Help. 21 Sep 2004 (Forum)
I'm after some impartial advice regarding a 'K' plate Ford Fiesta Ghia I have just bought for the Missus. It's a grand little car. I have stereo issue's I believe she is a Ford 2006/2007/2008 radio cassette player, I know you are all thinking get with the times but all in good time. It comes up with the ellusive code reqd message, believe battery has recently been disconnected and as such requires code, I have only just bought the car and surprise, surprise as Cilla would say no code with it! -
Commuting times increasing 19 Jul 2004 (Forum)
It blames people using main roads for short journeys, naming the M62. As we know, the M62 is mentioned every day on Radio 2's travel reports. As I see it, the M62 problem is that Leeds, Bradford, Halifax, Wakefield, Hudds, Oldham and Manchester are all very close to each other, so close that they are all seen as commuter towns for each other. -
Creaky Mondeo 3 Sep 2003 (Forum)
It does not matter if you are going over a smooth or bumpy surface, if anything it is worst over a smooth road. It is now a constant annoyance, and at times can be heard over the radio - even if it is on loud to attempt to drown it out. I have taken it into two different Ford dealers on 5 occasions who, despite being told how to ensure the creaking occurs (keep in shade and put air con on full for 10 minutes before taking it out on the road), have not managed to fix it. -
Mitsubishi Colt 27 Aug 2003 (Forum)
I like what I see (and read in the Car by Car Breakdown) about the Colt and surprisingly there's one locally, an "96 N Reg Mitsubishi Colt 1.6 GLX, Petrol, Hatchback, 56,000 miles , 3 Doors. 1 owner and full MITSUBISHI history, 3 Doors. airbag double, Body Coloured Bumpers, Catalytic Converter, Central Door Locking, electric sunroof, Electric Windows, Heated Rear Screen, In Car Entertainment, Manual Transmission, Paint Metallic, Power-Assisted Steering, radio/cd, rear spoiler, Rear Wash/Wipe, £2,350" There's hardly any problems mentioned in CBCB unlike the great long list of Fords etc faults, but having done a quick search through the archives here it seems that Mitsubishi parts can be hard to source. -
Rant about police and traffic reporters 10 Mar 2003 (Forum)
It is totally ludicrous to expect anybody to drive past a major shunt without taking a peek Rob P And then there's the local radio stations that flick on the RDS so that you can listen to two minutes of oh-so-daring and mildly suggestive chatter between the presenter and the traffic girlie. AAAAAGH! -
Peugeot 406 Coupe Water Leak!! 13 Feb 2003 (Forum)
The passenger footwell started to fill up with water!! (literally) with some days over a pint of water hoovered out. With the radio and fan turned off I can hear water trickling as you go around a right hand bend and the left hand side is lower than the right. The leak is freshwater and not coolant / washer fluid etc. Water appears to be coming out of a small drain hole in a unit (I think a fan housing)up behind the glovebox During the 15 days I've owned the car it has spent five days in with the Peugeot Dealer trying to sort the fault. -

Mazda 6 Sports Nav + Auto - 2019 Mazda 6 Sports Nav+ locks and windows 17 Jan 2019 (Forum)
So far we have found a big difference from our VW CC that had lots of features, radio worked without a key, security door opening, full closure and opening of windows when required. Only had it a day or so but finding small things that mean a lot and as its the top of the range model we expected these small things to be there. -

Toyota Yaris - New car - first week review 7 Apr 2018 (Forum)
No electronic handbrake No more can of gloop and compressor – a skinny spare sits under the boot floor No stop start system No complicated touchscreens for essential operations – just the radio and Bluetooth operations No rubber band tyres No turbo systems to go wrong Despite this it does have an excellent spec for what is the entry level 1.5 model. There is a more basic model, but it only has the 1.0 engine. -
