Mazda CX-5 - Out of shape tyres - 1 year old used car 14 Apr 2024 (Forum)
I just bought a 1 year old CX-5 for £25K and picked it up 200 miles from where I live. On the drive home I noticed a mild vibration at motorway speeds and reported this to the dealer (Arnold Clark) when I got home. -
Depreciation and second hand car values 9 Jun 2020 (Forum)
The whole thing was very easy and the dealer very good, finding exactly the car she wanted and an excellent deal. Anyway, what really struck me was the trade in price for the old Yaris, which was the same that we paid 4 years ago as the final payment on the PCP, £6,600. -
Suitable first car for 17 year old 11 Sep 2009 (Forum)
We are looking for a suitable car for our 17 year old to learn in. He's 18 in April and we thought it would be a good idea to get him a basic CHEAP but safe motor for about 2 grand. Group 1 insurance, low tax all the rest of it. -
Polo 1.4 tdi pd - How much is this immaculate old car worth 31 Oct 2017 (Forum)
It is in effect a 15 year old car with less wear and tear of a 2 year old car. Nobody has sat in the back seats and only occaionally in the front passenger seat I know its a 15 year old car but surely its worth a little more than the around £800/1000 that this vintage are fetching. -
New or Old shape Volvo V70 ? 9 Aug 2006 (Forum)
I know old shape has expensive aircon problem - replicated on new shape car ? And is new shape car better to drive than older one ? I would probably be looking at the 2.5 low pressure turbo petrol or a diesel engine, as I imagine they will tow the best, and the turbo-petrol seem quite available What is the mpg of the 2.4 LPT petrol engine like when coupled with autobox (Horrific ?) -
Solid choices for (8->15 year old) small cars 7 Oct 2019 (Forum)
My wife needs a small car for her 60 mile a day (total) commute to work (she is petite, and not really comfortable driving larger cars), she'd also prefer an automatic. Are there any 15 year old small petrol automatics (talking fiesta, 206 size - not supermini) that would be up to doing 60 miles a day for a couple of years? -
Any - 7 seaters 15 Oct 2024 (Forum)
Granddaughter will soon have twins to accommodate, she already has a 2 year old and a 3 year old. They have a limited budget so will be looking at used cars, locally there seem to be a few Hyundai and Kia 7 seaters at reasonable prices, but mostly with fairly high mileage. -

Advice needed car allowance car 35k miles a year 7 Jan 2013 (Forum)
Hi I currently do about 35k miles a year and get a car allowance of £320 a month after tax plus 20p a mile fuel allowance. The allowance stipulates the car must be less than 5 years old and you get paid more the lower the emissions. I currently run a Hyundai I30 that is coming up to five years old and not really big enough. -

Why 3 Year MOT instead of mileage cap? 2 Feb 2020 (Forum)
I've always thought that inaugural Mot tests could be mandatory at a mileage cap rather than age. A two year old car can easily travel 80k without a legal road safety test. But a three year old car could travel less than 20k and be forced the test. Anyone else think this is an incorrect way to measure the roadworthyness of a used car? -
