W. Midlands Alloy Wheel Refurb? 30 Oct 2006 (Forum)
My gf managed to kerb my front n/s alloy over the weekend. She's stripped off the protective bumper on the tyre, and gone thru the lacquer, putting a 10 cm long graze on the alloy. Does anyone have a recommendation for someone in the W Mids who could sort this out for me? -
Goodyear 26 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Good morning all, what a lovely day to talk about tyres. Have been trying to order some Eagle F1's GSD2 in recent times and climbing everest would be easier. Virtually every fitter I called for a quote over the past few days tells me most varieties of Goodyear are on back order and have been for some months. -
Mini depreciation 'shock' 26 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Just under twelve months ago a colleague bought a Cooper S with leather and sat-nav for £18000 (used). He got it on the basis of its 'rock solid' residuals. A change of circumstances has led to him havig to change it. He got £11000 from the dealer. He was absolutely shocked and feels like he's been sold a pup by the motoring press. -
Aircon fuel consumption increases 28 Aug 2006 (Forum)
The link below *should* take you through AutoBild´s table of fuel consumption increases for 4 cars with their aircon on - a Panda, Zafira, C-class and a Golf. The bit on the left shows the different ambient temps tested: 20, 28 and 33 degrees. The middle bit gives a percentage fuel consumption increase at 50 km/h. -
Astra Van rack failure 27 Jul 2006 (Forum)

too much oil...consequences of driving 2 Jun 2006 (Forum)
My friend got given a vectra (W reg) by his brother; he accidentally put in too much oil (the dip stick goes up past the max by about the same amount as the distance between the max and the min). Now it takes a few turn s to start and there was a puff of black smoke.. He hasnt got any inspection ramps or anywhere to safely drain away the oil, is it safe to drive the car about 2 miles to the garage to have the oil changed, or will it cause damage..? -

Restoring VW Spray Washers 19 Feb 2006 (Forum)
I switched to Halford?s lemon scented screen wash concentrate a few weeks ago. Largely because SWMBO did not like the smell of my usual cheapo stuff. A welcome side effect is that the spray function of the nozzles has been mostly restored. -
BMW 3 series service 3 Feb 2006 (Forum)
I currently own a 98 S reg 318ti sport with a full BMW service history at 70600 miles. With a service 1 or 11 coming up fairly soon, I was hoping for some advice on whether it is worth keeping this up or whether a BMW specialist but non dealership service would maintain the value the same? -
civic type-R gearbox 12 Jan 2006 (Forum)
I had the engine oil changed a thousand miles ago to Castrol SLX 0W-30 but doubt if this would have anything to do with gear selection!! Also, big up Cirencester Tyre and Exhaust Co for their 4-wheel laser tracking service. New RE040's have 6000 miles on them and are wearing evenly, and very slowly - thanks lads! -
New Seat Leon 6 Jan 2006 (Forum)
Picked it up yesterday, and already covered over 300 miles in it. 1.9TDI (105bhp) stylance with metalic black paint, bluetooth phone kit and some lovely 17's. http://www.seat.co.uk/generator/su/uk/newLeon/site/main.html Pretty much the same as the black car plastered all over the site above. Maybe a RF stylee transformation is in order, any sugestions? -
Personal best wheelspin 18 Dec 2005 (Forum)
By holding the car on the foot-brake, revving hard then releasing the brake, I can do fantastic wheelspins. Yesterday?s rubber marks were about ten metres long before I bottled out (heading for concrete wall). I know I can beat that though, I?ve got the day off today. My wife sits there shaking her head, but I?m sure backroomers will be impressed. -
I have a Question Volume 87 18 Sep 2005 (Forum)
The property will be a holiday home for both their families and at other times, rented out with profits split equally. The question(s); If down the line, for whatever reason Harry defaults on his mortagage payments, what would the implications be for Jack? Would they be different if he had taken out a mortgage himself? TIA. -

1999 Passat - Plenum Drain Holes 5 Jul 2005 (Forum)
Does anyone know where the drain holes(s) are in the above vehicle ? - I checked the car today and the plenum chamber is flooded (Car Parked on an angle and water 1cm up on electrical ECU box, halfway up the servo !!) The mats inside the car feel dry so fingers crossed no damage to ECU's.
