Would you buy a second hand car without seeing it? 10 Jan 2010 (Forum)
15 months old, low mileage, main dealer, we have looked at identical cars, this one is a good price though the other end of the country. Would you buy a second hand car without seeing it? Any thoughts? Thanks. -
Can a car really be called "mint"?? 26 Mar 2007 (Forum)
I have been looking at cars on ebay and autotrader and some of them having done up to 90k miles can be described as "mint". Is this possible? Surely even a 6 month old car will have at least a few stonechips? Have they just called the chips away folks and then described it as mint? -
Vauxhall Rental Cars 31 Dec 2002 (Forum)
HJ, With regard to your article on the contract for Vauxhall Rental cars. 66,000 cars for £900M = £13,636 each average cost - as you say at list prices. Any idea what ANC are paying for them? £500-600M? They are to sell them at 6 months old. Will they sell them for more than they paid for them? -

Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 05 1.8 key reprogramming/coding 12 Oct 2008 (Forum)
Hi all I am hoping that someone may be able to help I have a 2005 ford focus not the newer model on a 1.8 zetec. I have two keys for the car being the master and the remote (although the remote doesnt work). I purchased a third key off ebay on the basis I would be able to repgram the remote and put the old car on this. This allows me to open the car and lock it but not start it as the imolbiliser kicks in. -
Mazda Mazda 2 (2003 - 2007) - Difficulty in Selling 4 Aug 2008 (Forum)
We've finally persuaded my 80 year old father to give up driving. He has a 3yr old Mazda 2 Capella that has done about 5000 miles. Nobody seems interested in looking at it or if they do they make silly offers of around £2500. I think one problem is that the car is in Carlisle where the pool of potential buyers is limited. -
Audi A4 B7 (2005 - 2008) - 2.0 TDI 140 engine - fuel consumption 5 Nov 2007 (Forum)
I was wondering why it seems that the Audi A4 with the 2.0 TDI 140 engine is so much more thirsty than other VAG cars with the same engine ? My car has now done 10.5K miles and compared to my old TDI 130 the fuel consumptions is still fairly unexciting. I get 44-45 MPG on a motorway run if I'm really gentle, whereas the old TDI 130 on the same journeys would do 50-52 mpg. -

Two V5s for same car! 10 Apr 2004 (Forum)
Daughter is trading in her old Clio against a new one which she picks up at 9am tomorrow. While checking the documents that she will hand in she revealed that she has two V5s for her old Clio. Both are identical except for a)serial number at the top and various other ref numbers and b) the date of issue - one is dated a week after the other. -
HELP!! Ford Escort 17 Jun 2003 (Forum)
At this point it appears to be running on 3 cylinders, and some black smoke is comming out of the exhaust. After about 5-7 mins of high-ish revs, i get a puff of blackish smoke, the revs increase and the car then runs smoothly!! I have changed the spark plugs, HT leads, Dist cap and rotar arm, and quite frankly i am at loss as to where the problem lyes? the car, is ok old, but has got only 37k on the clock, and is in extremely good nick. -
Mitsubishi Lancer - Very low mileage car 26 Jan 2019 (Forum)
Casually glancing through Autotrader last night I found a nine year old Mitsubishi Lancer with only 11,000 miles. On the assumption that this is genuine, and the photographs are a true representation of the condition of the car, would you buy it? The price is £3,490. -

Car/MPV with 3 kids 28 Feb 2017 (Forum)
Expecting a third child soon and that's forcing me to look at changing my car (Honda Accord 2.2). With a 6 years old, 4 years old and a new baby it'll be almost impossible to fit them all at the back. I've already tried all their seats and it didn't look good. I'm looking at either getting a bigger car that would allow 3 child seats at the back properly or go for MPV. -

Any - Dilema 24 Dec 2016 (Forum)
I currently drive a 12 year old Skoda TDI with 130PD engine which is approaching 120,000, to date the car has been reliable and is regularly serviced by independent VAG specialist, however I am not sure how long the car will remain reliable and start to cost money to run more than normal. -
