It will not be used in this time (we have a spare). If I do not go and sorn it today, will I receive an automatic £80 fine? If I do sorn it, is the effect of the sorn automatically cancelled when I re-tax it, or is there a load more paperwork to fill in? • Audi 80 lumpy idling 19 Feb 2002 (Forum)
My 1986 Audi 80 1.6 petrol (Pierburg 2E2 carburettor with automatic choke)is running well when the engine is under load (i.e. it goes well when you have your foot on the accelerator), and runs well when it is cold (the automatic choke keeps the revs high). When the engine has warmed up, it still runs well under load, but when it is idling it is very lumpy and occasionally stalls.

By his logic, manual car drivers must be lethal yet we never hear of such a case. It is just a case of old people driving automatics who should not be driving.

Hardly a showstpper problem, but does anyone know where the daylight sensor for the automatic headlights is? SWMBO's headlights stay on in the daytime with the switch  in "auto", so either the sensor has failed or something is obscuring it.
