Engine flushers 4 Feb 2003 (Forum)
If it helps anyone considering flushing out engine prior to or with oil change, i used a standard pre oil change flush from Halfords which whilst clearly getting a lot of gunk out of the engine (as was evident from the old oil), did seem to cause one of the Injectors to begin malfunctioning. -
Toyota Corolla Verso T3 D4D year 2001 - Oil change on diesel low annual mileage 2225miles 2 Jun 2019 (Forum)
My wifes car is only used for short runs, I changed the oil & filter when she got it and since had done 2225 miles in a year almost to the day. So as we want this engine to last my question is, would it be wise to change the oil & filter now (yearly) despite low miles or leave it longer. -
Audi A3, 2litre TFSI Sports Cabriolet - New Audi Oil Change 19 Mar 2013 (Forum)
The Service Indicator tells me (as expected) that the first service will be end of May 2014. However, it is now showing an Oil Change due at the end of May this year. In both cases I will cover a lot less mileage than the fall back figures of 19,000 miles and and 9,000 miles (see above). I planned to change the oil and filter myself. -

I changed the oil and filter in my wifes 2006 Polo 1.4tdi over the weekend. No problems. Re-filled with 3.8 litres per the handbook. The oil was at the low end of the dipstick but I left it - figuring better at the low end than over filled. -
Corolla 2001 Oil Change Procedure 18 Jan 2005 (Forum)
I am about to embark on the challenge to DIY oil & filter change on my Corolla 2001 vvt-i 1.6 Auto. I have spent some time looking around for relevant info (No Haynes manual however) but still have some queries: 1) I read this statment from somewhere - 'It has the cam belt to the left , alternator underneath and the heat shield to the right, there is no room at all to get the oil filter off.' -

Peugeot 406 1998 2.0 Estate - Ca 12 Jul 2012 (Forum)
I want to try and save on getting engine oil, oil/air filters and plugs changed. I wanted to find out how I could do that and what tools I would need. I believe the oil filter is right at the front of the engine behind the radiator and the air filter is to the left side of the engine, however I cannot figure out the way for changing oil. -

oil-change regime 12 Sep 2006 (Forum)
Ever since I was a young lad, I've changed the oil in my cars roughly every 6,000 miles, which has always worked out at every 6 months or so, with the cars doing a mixture of long & short trips. Due to a change in circumstances, I now find myself driving 600 miles a week, which means I'm now doing my 6,000 miles every 10 weeks. -

I service the car myself completely since I have owned it and have always used the onboard service indicator to determine when the service is due. On the most recent oil change I noticed the valve gear to be unusually noisy (The car has done 146K). I have been using fully synthetic oil in the past and have only changed brand to a Halfords own brand fully synthetic oil on this last change. -
