Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 00 1.8 Unlocking Focus bonnet 18 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I know I'm stupid but I wonder if anyone could help me. I have managed to shut the key to my Focus in the bonnet (resting on the battery) and it is the only key that I have so I can't open the bonnet to retrieve it. Is there a way to open the bonnet without a key? I'm really kicking myself, just thought I would check the oil, put the key down while I did so, shut the bonnet, then 2 seconds later realised what I had done! -

Citroen Saxo (1997 - 2003) - Broken alarm 12 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Its a 2000/W registration Saxo and the alarm has set itself and the fob will not turn off the alarm. The only way I have made it stop is to disconnect the battery which is a problem as I can?t drive the car. Does anyone have any ideas of how I can turn the alarm off or even where the alarm is in the engine bay so I can disconnect it? Thanks Andy a-parsons@hotmail.co.uk Edited to try to make it read more like English, Rob -
Peugeot 405 Diesel (1988 - 1996) - 1993 1.9 Alarm Problem 11 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Hi all, My problem is that the alarm will not switch off, the blip works fine with new batteries and locks/unlocks the doors, the flashing led remains on, hence when you unlock doors the horn sounds and will not switch off, unless you turn ignition on, but the immobiliser is still on so i cannot start the car. -
Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 99 2.0 Door mirror glass replacement 18 Nov 2008 (Forum)
Spares department fitted the replacement in seconds. ( Haynes has a complex proceedure that I did not understand - starting with "disconnect the battery") I was charged £3 plus vat - at a good London independant Ford outfit. So if you need the job done it can be done quickly, easily and cheaply. Good luck -
Peugeot 206 hatchback (1998 - 2006) - 2004 1.1 Engine stopping while driving 23 Oct 2008 (Forum)
While driving home today, on two seperate occasions my car's engine stopped while I was driving. The battery lights came on as though I had turned the key in the ignition without starting the engine. The 1st time I was going about 30km/hr, and the second time I had just started to drive in 2nd gear after a light turned green. -

The engine keeps running and i can keep driving but when I stop you cannot start, engine cranks but due to no dash display of any kind it will not start. I disconnect battery and reconnect then all display comes back but then a little while later it loses everything again. Any pointers on the cause. -

Ford Focus (1998 - 2004) - 52 reg 1.6 petrol Headlight bulb blown - again! 16 Feb 2008 (Forum)
Well, my old Mondy has covered 145,000 miles and I've only ever replaced one headlamp bulb but SWMBO's Focus (54k miles) seems to have developed a habit of blowing one or the other headlamp bulb every 5 or 6 months. This time, it's the battery side again - and that's a real pain! I wonder if this is a common problem with Foci, or is it symptomatic of some other fault? I'd be grateful for any opinions. Cheers Waino -
SAAB 900 (1993 - 1998) - 1997 900SE - Radio freezes when code entered 6 Jan 2008 (Forum)
I have a 1997 SAAB 900se. Disconnected the battery so the radio cleared. Now when I put in the radio code from the book, the radio freezes. The numbers stay in the display but it doesn't play, and I can't turn it off (unless I turn off the car). -
Vauxhall Astra G Petrol (1998 - 2004) - Replacement Key 21 Aug 2007 (Forum)
I know there are lots of threads on this subject but so far I can`t find them. I need a replacement key for an Astra 1.6 8v 2002. Spare key works no problem. Batteries to both keys were replaced 1 month ago. Do I have to leave car at the dealer or just take in both keys. Is main dealer the best option ( I do have a friend that works for the main dealer. Its only just happened so have not had a chance to ask them). -
Peugeot 205 (1983 - 1997) - How to reset the immobiliser without key fob 15 Aug 2007 (Forum)
Hi All, I recently bought a 1994 Pug 205 1.8 diesel Mardi Gras which only came with one key and no remote key fob. Unfortunately I managed to run the battery flat today and an immobiliser has kicked in and I cannot start the car (I did not know it even had an immobiliser!) Is there anyway to easily bypass the system and get the car running again or will I have to go to the main dealer which I guess will be very expensive? -
'02 Focus Zetec 1.8tdci - Immobiliser 6 Aug 2007 (Forum)
When going to start the motor, after waiting for all the usual lights to go out, the car did not start . . . it seemed to want to but didn't - just a slight noise. After thinking it was the battery, I tried to jump start it, and that failed. therefore got towed back to the house. My mate belives the code has fallen off the key, how do you reset this? can it be done manually or do I need to get someone out to have a look at it? -
Skoda remote keyfob fault 19 Feb 2007 (Forum)
The remote locking fob for my V6 TDi Superb stopped working suddenly after 3.5 years and 36,000 miles. The original, spare one works fine. I purchased a new battery, put it in the fob and it didn't work. The handbook says it might need re-synchronising, so I followed the procedure in the book - still no joy. The local Skoda dealer says the fob has probably failed and I will need to bring both fobs and the car down to the garage for them to fix this - approx cost, inc. labour, about £60.00 Any one got a better idea please? -
SAAb 9-5 alarm woes 19 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Furthermore, I cannot disable the sound, and have to let it run its course - often I choose to disconnect the battery for a while - which I do in the hope of re-booting things. The local (good) dealer looked at the alarm diagnostics, and saw no trend of any one sensor triggering the alarm frequently -thus concluding that the sensors were not the problem. -
HT Lead - M Reg Ford Fiesta 14 Dec 2006 (Forum)
The car still won't start, on another call out to the RAC they say it is the lead that connects the alternator to the battery that is corroded. What is this called? I have had a guy look at the car who says it is an HT lead but another guy days it is something different? Basically I need to know if this is a big or small job and can I buy the lead myself? -
Toyota Service Lights 16 Nov 2006 (Forum)
Had the water pump & timing belt changed on my picnic last week (97, 2.0 petrol). Battery off for a while, now I have what the handbook describes as service lights on the dash. Had the service done approx 3k ago, so should not need doing.... The lights are the oil level & handbrake light.
