'02 Focus Zetec 1.8tdci - Immobiliser

'02 Focus Zetec 1.8tdci - Immobiliser - peteranthony01
My 2002 Ford Focus Zetec 1.8tdci decided not to start last night. When going to start the motor, after waiting for all the usual lights to go out, the car did not start . . . it seemed to want to but didn't - just a slight noise. After thinking it was the battery, I tried to jump start it, and that failed. therefore got towed back to the house.

My mate belives the code has fallen off the key, how do you reset this? can it be done manually or do I need to get someone out to have a look at it?

Any help or ideas would be greatly appreciated

If you suspect the immobilizer; check that it's warning light follows the exact sequence described in the handbook.

If it doesn't; there's your problem. Try another key.

hmmmm OK - sorry I am useless with technical stuff . . .

No warning light comes on on the dash (to my knowledge) I will have to fully investigate when I get home from work tonight.
