Mondeo/Laguna/Vectra/C5 etc - Which make and model? 1 Mar 2012 (Forum)
But then there is the omnipresent Vectra from around the same era - is that a better car? I like the Renault Laguna for its styling, but they are probably the most unreliable of the lot right? Then there'e the Citroen c5, which seems a bit...plain? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated! -
Megane moans 21 Mar 2010 (Forum)
I have a close relative whom sells Renaults for a living. He currently drives a two week old 'new shape' Megane. In those two weeks the hand brake has failed, all electrics have ceased to function, car has refused to start twice. He comments that he can mark in his diary when a clio will be returned to the dealer. -
Ford - rusting 30 Jul 2009 (Forum)
Anyone know why though - surely its galvanised same as any other car? Never had any rusting problems on previous cars (Renaults and Peugeots) even after various stone chips and accident damage. Shame because its a really good car to drive but I think the rusting problem would put me off buying one. -

Changing a headlight bulb - the easy way 8 Jan 2009 (Forum)
The 17 year old Honda I am temporarily driving woke up this morning with a serious and expensive fault - the nearside headlight bulb had failed overnight. Well knowing how difficult it is to change similar bulbs in modern Renaults, I went on my way to various surveys and came by a motor factors. I pulled in, and opened the bonnet in trepidation....... Five minutes later, involving removing the old bulb, going into the shop and buying a new bulb (£2.95) fitting the new bulb and closing the bonnet, I was driving away perfectly legally. -
How green was my alley? 2 May 2008 (Forum)
Nissan/Renault have announced that they will market an "electric car" in the US from 2010 and in Europe from 2011. Carlos Ghosan says the car will not be boring to drive and they have signed a deal with Israel because that country imposes an import duty of 70% on cars but only 10% if they are electric. -
Machanics/Garages - What cars do you dread? 30 Apr 2008 (Forum)
There are certain jobs I dread as I either cannot make much money out of, or is more trouble than its worth. Is their any cars like this? I can imagine the Citroen XM/Renault Safrane are quite dreaded. Equally what jobs do you love doing and can make a lot of money out of? I love working in big houses as they usually have lots of computers all need looking at but not much wrong with them etc. -
Question about car prices in the 1960s. 17 Apr 2008 (Forum)
I've just been reading PU's Wolseley thread, and it got me thinking. Back in 1966, my dad was contemplating a new car. I remember looking at a Renault 16. I remembering hoping it would be a Citroen DS. In the end it was an Austin A60. The Peugeot 404 was also on the shortlist. I'm pretty sure that the Wolseley16/60 was not. My question is "What would the respective prices of these various cars have been?" -
Ford C-MAX (2003 - 2010) - 2005 1.6 Zetec - Replacing wipers 15 Feb 2008 (Forum)
I remember being pleasantly surprised at how reasonable my Skoda wipers were from the main dealer but not sure if Ford are the same (my Renault Scenic were extortionate from the dealer) -

Expensive rain 19 Jun 2007 (Forum)
One is a BMW 320D - don't know for sure what's wrong with it yet but it drove through a deep puddle, cut out, and now its dead! Third one is a Renault Espace and they think con rod(s) bent. All sounds very expensive - I think he's looking forward to a bumper set of accounts this year! -
Kangoo Radio Code Reset 17 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Not sure what model it is, but it preset buttons in a block on right and does have the remote paddles on the steering column. It worked rather well until I inadvertantly disconnected the battery thanks to Renault battery clips, and it now needs the code inserted. I believe I know the code, and can get the set to prompt ( 0000 ) and worked out which button changes the digit that flashes, but cannot fathom out how to increment & set each number. -

Astra 98 Blowing bulbs 28 Feb 2005 (Forum)
I seem to have a similar problem as BobG "Blowing bulbs and ECUs. Renault Megane" My Astra keeps blowing headlight bulbs. I have been advised to add an extra bit of wiring (please excuse my complete lack of technical knowledge). This extra piece of wiring apparently gets attached somewhere between the switch and the light. -
How much can a Kangoo swallow? 7 Feb 2005 (Forum)
So we're looking at hiring a van. My digital piano is 30 inches (77cm) high and 54 inches (137cm) long. Will it fit in a Renault Kangoo/Ford Connect van, along with a similar sized bookshelf and numerous boxes, or should I be looking at the next size up? Before anyone panics, I don't *think* I'll be driving it! Thanks -
1998 Megane - No Heating 3 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Hi, I don't seem to have any warm air coming in through to the cabin of my 1998 1.4e Renault Megane. A couple of days ago the air was a little warm if you let it come in on its own (i.e whilst driving without the blower on). Now there is no warm air at all and it's freezing cold at the moment. -
Cooling system advice - general 8 Sep 2004 (Forum)
While I was squeezing the hoses on my recently acquired Renault Megane (subject of a number of recent posts!), it was clear that there was some sort of internal deposit as there was a scrunching feeling when I squeezed the pipe (not very graphic desciption I'm afraid). -
Hey, Good Looking... 31 Jul 2004 (Forum)
My nominations are, in no particular order: Citroen Xantia (both saloon and estate) Mercedes 190 First Renault Clio Alfa 156 (had to include that, even at the risk of all the usual anti-Alfa reactions we get here). -
My ex-girlfriend, I shouldn't laugh but 17 Apr 2004 (Forum)
She spends £13,217 and 54p on a brand new Renault Megane with all the toys. Then dumps me 4 days later while I was in the process of cancelling the insurance on her previous car. Two weeks later she manages to wreck the Megane by forgetting that parked cars don't often get out of the way. -
How best to sell Saab 900 18 Mar 2004 (Forum)
my neighbour is swapping her 1997 Saab 900 SE (I think, rather than just an S) for something a little large to accomodate her kids. This 97P has 49k and is an auto and is in *excellent* condition. She is getting a Renault Scenic and it seems that she has been offered £1500 as PX. I realise that the car is 7 years old but isn't £1500 a little on the light side? I can understand that the dealer doesn't really want a car this old (in years rather than mileage) but if it is a little too cheap how else can she sell?
