  • Door won't open 19 Oct 2002 (Forum)
I do not have the time today to be removing the window runner in order to see more of the mechanism. Has anybody had a similar problem with another Citroen or Peugeot? Thanks in advance. Ben
  • vibration when winding steering wheel 15 Oct 2002 (Forum)
1999 Citroen Xsara 1.4 manual, 24,000 miles. When turning left at about 10-15mph and when the car is warm (never been able to replicate this when cold), I get a vibration on tightish left corners while winding the steering wheel at about 15mph.
  • Just how is insurance calculated? 3 Oct 2002 (Forum)
Entering in an old-shape Nissan Micra 1.0 (group 4) results in an insurance premium of £400 or thereabouts. Entering in an old Vauxhall Astra 1.4 (also group 4) results in a quote of £550. A Citroen ZX 1.4 (same group) is over £600! How are these figures worked out? Is it engine size? BHP? 0-60? Repair bills (and if so how come a Nova is slightly more expensive than a Micra when I'd have thought parts were dearer on the Micra)?
  • Well-priced basic 12v power pack 10 Sep 2002 (Forum)
I've owned one myself for the last few months without problems, and used it successfully from time to time. David M You know Citroens make sense in an up-and-down world......
  • mazda 323f? 27 Aug 2002 (Forum)
Hi I am looking at changing my car (present K reg Citroen ZX 1.4 Avantage which has had a whole heap of problems - shot driveshafts, oil leaks etc.) and am considering an older 89-94 Mazda 323F, probably 1.6GLXi, as I have always kinda liked the styling of these cars.
  • Ever increasing service intervals... 10 May 2002 (Forum)
I note that the service interval for the new Citroen C3 is 20k, same as the outgoing Vectra [I believe the new Vectra has 30k proposed intervals would you believe]. The drastic increasing of servicing intervals seems to be a common trend amongst manufacturers - Is this really all down to fleet buyers or is it just because we as a nation are a bit "tight" and like to keep our car costs down as much as possible?
  • ZX instrument swap 28 Apr 2002 (Forum)
I wonder if any Citroen enthusiasts out there can help me. I own a base spec ZX, and its instrumentation consists of only speedo, giant clock where a rev counter is on higher spec models and a fuel gauge, no temperature gauge either!
  • ZX towing 3 Apr 2002 (Forum)
My ZX (97P 1.9TD) handbook says I must fit an air deflector under the engine before I tow anything - presumably for extra cooling although this isn't made clear. It only applies to the 1.9TD engine, but when I asked the local Citroen garage quoted me £150 to fit it and said it had been a couple of years since they's done one of them. I have towed a glider to Spain and back over the Pyrenees with no temperature problems at all, but these trailers are narrower and only slightly taller than the car so are nowhere near as draggy as a caravan, for example.
  • Toyota new factory 18 Feb 2002 (Forum)
Released sometime back in the euro press was the iminent opening of yet another toyota factory in Poland only this time it is to build peogeot, citroen, and deawoo along with its own models.A friend who is an car plant built consultant tells me that it will have the capacity to shut down their relevent plants in the Uk. It seems to me these days that everybody is rushing to build plants in Poland and the Czech republic with them being the next new members of the EU and also the buiding of new link motorways and railroads to connect to Germany and Austria to service them. There seems to be no shortage of infrastructure money something the UK should take heed off.I think if I worked for any car company in the UK I would be wary about taking out a 25 year mortgage.
  • And so it's farewell..... 16 Sep 2001 (Forum)
To return the back room to an even keel, I now call upon DW to present his 10 000 word dissertion entitled "Citroens, their part in my downfall: an account of a man obsessed." Note: I am not certain if the valuation figure given above applies to Chris's mansion........................or South Shields in it's magnificent entirety HH M
  • Which MPV 9 Jun 2001 (Forum)
If any one has got an "inside" or professional view on these could you please post them for me. I'm lost with it all! Thanks, Paul PS. Do people still not like working on Citroens, mechanics used to hate them, do they still?

  • Citroen Berlingo Multispace - Dad-to-be swapping small van for a LAV - which one 20 Mar 2017 (Forum)
As I love the van, it's so useful and pratical with the massive "trunk", so I'm looking to replace it with a van based LAV such as the Citroen Berlingo, Fiat Doblo or the Renault Kangoo. I'm keen on getting the "new" van at an auction. My budget is £2000-£3000, possibly a little bit more if there's a good reason to do so.

  • Sold Note to Evans Halshaw 8 May 2018 (Forum)
Having read vey few good reports about WBAC I took a commitee decision and made an appointment at the local Evans Halshaw emporium (they do Nissan and Citroen on the site but we had to go to the Citroen showroom). Young lady inspected the car, sent details to head office via the ether and said to wait about 20 minutes whilst she got a reply. Nice coffee and papers to read.

  • Is owner informed if car is made Cat C ? 1 Jan 2009 (Forum)
Just over 3 years ago, my wife bought a fairly old Citroen ZX from a friend. We received a vehicle registration document (V5) after a couple of weeks. Because it was a cheap car, she only got third party, fire & theft insurance. A few months later, someone drove into the back of it.
