  • Hovercraft needed 2 Sep 2013 (Forum)
Hi, Can anyone suggest anything sensible thats got a "proper" automatic gearbox has a reasonably high seating position, not too big, cheap, and can deal with potholes, raised junctions, sleeping police men, speed cushions etc. as I am really not enjoying driving anymore, my current little "tide us over" Hyundai Getz ( my Touran recently died die to a blown turbo followed by gearbox failure) is like me getting shaken to bits, and doesn't know which is the best gear to be in, i'm thinking of driving in a bubble wrap suit.

  • Pegeout 206 1.6 8v 2000 - Erratic idle/reving, starting problems 22 Feb 2013 (Forum)
Hi, Pegeout 206 1.6 8v 2000 model. My car is driving me crazy! Won't start when hot, starts when cold. Also, reving erratically (around 3k revs)usually when driving and dip the clutch to change gear the revs do not drop. Just now I was stuck at a junction in neutral and it was stuck at 4k revs.

, I seem to remember with 4wd you have to change all the tyres at the same time? Finally I'd be interested to hear from any owners out there. Safe driving!
  • Cars without lights! 9 Dec 2012 (Forum)
A dark cold wet night. Vauxhall Vectra with one dim side light on one side and nothing showing on the other. Driving agressively; I.e. itching to overtake, rolling over the stop lines at traffic lights etc etc. How does one report this nonsense? I kept thinking that the next MoT test would get him, but then I realised he was probably driving without an MoT or insurance and getting away with it because there are not enough checks carried out.
  • Toyota Yaris - Orange engine light on dash intermittently on 27 Nov 2012 (Forum)
Hi, Does anyone know what it means when the orange engine light comes on on the dashboard? I took it in for service and soon after this light started coming on when I had been driving more than 20 minutes or so. This has never happened before. But then after a couple more times driving it would go off by itself. Not sure what it means and trying not to spend more money this year.
  • BMW 5 Series E39 - BMW E39 520 Auto Selection Problem 3 Oct 2012 (Forum)
Previously I could pull the selector back in a straight line but now it won't budge past N and I have to move it in a slight dog leg to get it into Drive. The car drives fine once I have overcome this and I can select P,R & N in a straight line. is this an early indication of something terminal or just "old age" Any advice gratefully received TIA
  • family car - £1600 to Spend on a Nippy family car? 12 Jul 2012 (Forum)
Currently got a C5 hdi which is pretty good in transporting the children around, however would like some more power. I've come from a youngster driving performance motors to a 31 year old father of 2 driving gutless transport. But the TD's have transformed over the years and wondered what your suggestions were. A VW would seem the ideal solution but outpriced by demand, ideally a 130 or 150 TDI would be good, any ideas?

  • 2007 VW Touran - Limp Mode after hitting 75mph 19 Jan 2012 (Forum)
When driving my 2007 Touran and you reach 75mph the throttle goes non responsive and the car slows to 50mph, which i understand as limp mode. Once you have stopped the car and turned the ignition off and on again you can then drive the car normally again untill you hit around 75mph ???
  • Citroen Xsara Diesel 'Y' Reg - Citroen Xsara Diesel loosing coolant water 26 Aug 2011 (Forum)
Hi, I have noticed that the car is loosing coolent water, because I have to fill it up every day or 2.   The car never overheats on long drives, but the coolant warning light come on when I drive in heavy traffic. The cars performance is OK and I cant see any water in the oil, or see water on the floor.  Not sure what to look for.
  • Citroen Xsara Estate - New Clutch Judder 13 May 2011 (Forum)
Hi all, I noticed recently that the clutch pedal had a vibration to it when used, after taking itto a garage I was advised that the clutch needed replacing.  after having it replaced today (was told the flywheel didnt need replacing), driving home I've noticed that there's a very noticable judder driving off, dropping into first and engaging reverse.  Is this normal for a new clutch and if not any ideas what could cause it.  It would be good to know before i go back to the garage tomorrow to avoid any flannel.....

  • Lisening to the radio/CD/MP3 and so in car 26 Jun 2010 (Forum)
I wonder if I am the only one who like to drive in silence? OK sometimes I will put on the radio, especially when tired.  I do not have any CDs in my car. But it is for me kind of pleasant to drive in silance, the engine singing away.
  • m6 spec speed camera's 21 Mar 2010 (Forum)
hi went up and down the m6 the other weekend manchester to swindon, passing through quite a number of spec controlled roadworks. i kept to the signed limit but was surprised how many drivers were driving at well over the signed limit. do they know something others don't or do they not know what spec camera's are or do they not have the self control to drive at the stated limit. some must have been at well over 70 mph.
  • Peugeot 206 CC (2000 - 2007) - 02 1.6 Engine intermittently cuts out 23 Jan 2010 (Forum)
When it happens it starts straight away with the key. It is not missing at all through the range of driving speeds and the rev counter doesn't vary. I never experience loss of power when driving, Help! Confused!
