  Are Honda engines OK for Conversion?? Any Horror Stories relating to Honda Engines and LPG. I changed from a 1.6RT Renault Scenic that had an old Gas conversion on it (Non Injection type)and had problems that were quite costly. any information would be greatly appreciated

  Hi, Quick question. I have stupidly put the wrong oil in my Renault Trafic 2.1 Diesel engine. It's a campervan so does some hard mileage. The oil I have put in is 15w40 Castrol High Mileage oil which is intended for petrol engines. a) will I have done any damage to the diesel engine, (done over 1000 miles with wrong oil). b) will it be okay to leave until next change or should I change it asap, (inc. filter ???).

  I have been quoted £290 for my Clio cam belt change by renault, what kind of price would i be looking at from an independent garage? Any idea how much am i looking at for a clutch change?I have a feeling it will soon need replacing, The cars currently done 63k on an X plate year 2000, 1.6 16v Rsi Any other items that are prone to need replacing at this kind of mileage?

  Can anyone advise tactics? We were abused by the Rover dealer 18 months ago and bought from JamJar and last summer a Renault dealer was as bad as they come. The Saturday telegraph recently suggested actually selling to a used car dealer to keep the purchase as a separate transaction. Any advice welcome?! TimW aka Meldrew

  ... Hi, I've got a Renault Clio 1.4RT (1999) and I need some advice regarding a tickover problem. When I turn the engine on it sits idle at about 1500rpm and so when I'm in gear will actually move without me pressing the throttle.

  I actually have a birds nest in my car, in between the bumper and the radiator. It\'s well hidden and I can\'t get to it without jacking up the car and removing the bottom (renault megane sport tourer). I noticed it because I see the same bird come out of nowhere every time I start the car. Question is should I just leave it there? I\'m sort of a nature lover but this is taking the pink fluffy dice

  The published figures and HJ's roadtest imply the diesel is the one to pick, and I suspect it might suit his low revs driving style. However Nissan diesels were, pre-Renault, rather naff. Any views gratefully received. Thanks Peter

  I'm not considering buying this of course, but I saw this at a Renault franchise dealer today. 02 Vel Satis (didn't get the spec or mileage but I'm assuming 3.0 dci Privilège), £31255! Eh!?! You could get a new E270 CDi Elegance or 530d SE for that. I'm now wondering what they paid for it and what people on here would actually give for this car.

  I've just received a letter from Renault stating that "due to the differing legislative requirements of countries where Kangoo and Clio versions are sold, we are required to replace the accessory belt tensioner." A recall to replace a possible dodgy item on my Clio, fair enough.

  I serviced SHMBO's elderly Renault 5 this afternoon, including a couple of drops of engine oil on the feltpad underneath the rotor arm. Reaching for my trusty oilcan, the thought occured to me that the oil in it was at least 7 years old (straight forward Duckhams as I recall).

  My Renault has started to 'miss' at low revs (below 2000rpm). Upon taking it to my local garage the fault was diagnosed as a worn valve, no. 1 cylinder. This was diagnosed through it having a lower compression rating than the other cylinders.

  I own a base spec Citroen ZX, and while I am happy enough with it for day to day use I am worried by its lack of an engine temperature gauge,the only warning you get of any problem is when a warning light comes on, but I hate to think what the consequences would be if the bulb or wiring failed for this light, surely all cars should have a temp gauge. I have noticed this is also the case in other base spec french makes, Peugeot and Renault as well as Citroen.

I currently own a red Renault Clio (2018) petrol 1.2 litre engine which does approximately 40MPG - i purchased this outright.
