• Volvo S40 (2004 - ) - 06 2.0 Starting problem 20 Oct 2009 (Forum)
  It had the "sludge" cleaned out of the tank and a new fuel pump. This would have cost over £1000, but Volvo met 60% of the cost and the dealer the rest. Sadly this has not cured the problem, and the car is still very unreliable when starting. I am about to book the car into the Volvo dealership again (for the fifth time) but really have little confidence that they can fix it.

  I have searched the forum to see if any similar previous posts, nothing.  I have also posted on Volvo forum but would welcome views of non enthusiasts. Thinking of an S40 budget around £10,000.  I would prefer an automatic but not essential. Has anyone any relevant knowledge or experience they could share ?

  I have a Volvo V70 Estate 2003 Moddel and the main beam comes on but will not stay on as the switch lever on the stearing column does not seem to hold the beam on. The main beam works if I manually hold the lever in position so it is something wrong with the switch on the stearing column or something else?

  I have exessive heat comming from the driverside center console, very hot to the touch with leg and hand. Does anyone know the problem or fix? Did Volvo ever have a recall to fix that problem?

  Hello, I would be very grateful if someone could help me please. My 53 plate 2.5 diesel auto volvo does not run smoothly, the engine seems to be missing and the downgearing is very rough. Would anyone know what could be causing this. thanks

  Hi, I have a 2002(51) Volvo S40 1.9 Diesel. The idle is sitting at around 600-700rpm. I need to adjust the idle up. Can anyone give me some info on how to do this? Many thanks, Dave

  when driving in my volvo s60 auto when the gear flicks from 2 to 3 there is a loss of power for about a second and the revs go up high, like the car is in neutral and the pedal is bieng pressed, the revs go upto like the 3 mark on the counter is this gonna become a problem or should i not worry?

• Volvo XC90 D5 - Unexplained uneven tyre wear 21 Mar 2014 (Forum)
  Despite rigidly maintaining the manufacturers recommend tyre pressures, all four tyres on my car are showing signs of additional wear on the shoulders relative to the centre of the tyre. (Approx extra 0.8mm per 8000miles)  I'm even using the ECO recommendation from Volvo which for my car is the same tyre pressure to be used as if fully loaded.  All wheels and tyres were brand new too! Motoring logic tells me the tyres have been under-inflated but I'm already running at the highest pressure as dictated by Volvo.

  I have a 2010 Volvo C70 which has been treated with GardX. I do not garage this car and do not run it during the worst of the winter weather, (i.e snow) as I also have a Suzuki Jimny. During the worst of the winter weather should I consider protecting the Volvo with a car cover as can be purchased on popular auction sites?

  Prompted very much by SWMBO I may spend a wad of the hard-earned on a 54 plate Volvo V70 D5S. It's up at 20k, which seems about right for what Volvo franchises charge. Not my cup of tea at all but I'll only get to fill it up. We are negotiating, and we are at 13.6k to change with the px being a 2000X Audi A4 SE saloon (which is in very good nick and low on the miles).
