(my) Autotrader gems 25 Aug 2022 (Forum)
On top of that, having two individual rear seats like the fronts seemed like the best thing since sliced bread!. This turbo automatic seems in very fine fettle, the interior in particular looks like its never been sat in. 202205035291654 Not a Landcruiser, but this old school Nissan Patrol 4.2 (n/a!) -
Jensen Interceptor - A day with an Interceptor 23 Aug 2014 (Forum)
This dual personality is part of the charm of the car: the first half of the throttle’s movement is waft-matic; the second half unleashes the beast. Chrysler drivetrain engineers really did know their stuff, I’ve never driven an automatic car that has such good and immediate responses to your input. The car’s handling is still tidy, too. Initial mild understeer gives way to a nice balance on long sweeping corners, and the car stays firmly on line, feeling well planted. -
Honda Accord UK (2003 - 2008) - 05 2.2 Clutch Problems 16 Feb 2010 (Forum)
I intend to replace it with a ?tank? of sorts. We are keen to continue caravanning. Could anyone comment on automatic gearboxes for towing. Again, Thank You in Advance. Best Wishes and Happy Everythings, Len Bullock, Weston-Super-Mare, Summmmerset. {post amended to remove SHOUTING!} -
Citroen C4 (2004 - ) - Mini review - impressed! 17 Sep 2008 (Forum)
SWMBO has a business trip coming up and a hire car has turned up: A Citroen C4 1.6 SX automatic! I can't say I've ever been a Citroen fan in particular, but SWMBO commuted in it today and came back raving about it, so I went for a little blast myself. The first thing that strikes you is the styling. -
Are cars just TOO fast? 26 May 2005 (Forum)
No doubt there would soon be a plethora of aftermarket chips to get round this. Simple solution: if found to have been tampered with, then automatic instant confiscation of vehicle. Modifications to be confirmed, then destruction of said vehicle. No appeal. No resale of vehicle at auction. It?s gone. As an added tweak, I would also propose that ecu? -
Why do you run so many cars? 5 Oct 2004 (Forum)
I think that would become a stalemate! So if anyone can help me with a large 4 x 4 manual the size of a ford focus and automatic, we may be onto a winner! The thing is that together they may only do 12000 miles this year! Heaven help when the children start driving! Do any other backroomers need such motoring extremes as I do? -
Mitsubishi Outlander - Could it be a failed DMF on a SST (Dual Clutch)?? 20 Nov 2020 (Forum)
3) Take it to the Peugeot dealer who can bill the warranty company directly, assuming the fault is covered, it should be as "all components, friction materials, bearings, ECU's" of automatic and dual clutch gear boxes are specifically named, as is wear and tear - I'll just pay a 20% excess for parts. But they will charge more per hour if its not under warranty and might immobilise the car into the bargain! -
Audi - Reversed into pedestrian - any thoughts 4 Feb 2020 (Forum)
I had not seen her over my left shoulder and the collision happened as I took my foot off the brake and onto the accelerator (it's automatic). Goes without saying that I was horrified at what I'd done, the young lady (in her early 20's) was lying on the road, but after some time, the only external injury seemed to be a grazed (no blood) right elbow. -
All makes and models - All cars are unreliable according to this site 11 Aug 2016 (Forum)
I recently bought – as a temporary runaround while I find my ideal car – a cheap 14-year old Vauxhall Corsa automatic. I have 7K to spend on something nice, but all cars seem to be demons just wanting to break down and cost you a fortune to repair. Unfortunately, the internet gives us a means of researching these things. -
Lexus RX 450h - Lexus Dealership 1 Oct 2015 (Forum)
I along with my partner Tracy, both agreed very quickly the first course of action would be to change my van, and get a large 4 x 4 automatic car to enable me to carry on working, and be far more comfortable driving, and getting to and from work. All the time I was being told the bad back I had/have would hopefully be cured, I was putting myself through a lot of discomfort just getting to and from places of work. -
Citroen Xsara Picasso 1.6i - Airbag light constantly off 9 Nov 2014 (Forum)
I even took my Pug out for a run and have started getting her ready for her 11th MOT because as of March 2014 if the Airbag lights dont work its an automatic MOT failure. My pug has no airbags, no computers, nothing except it runs runs and runs. I would like please some useful information as to a possible fix for this nightmare of an airbag issue, even a few auto electricians wont come out to it because the lights arent showing. -
Land Rover Defender (1946 - ) - Land Rover or other 4X4 for a smallholding? 27 Sep 2009 (Forum)
I may not succeed in buying it, but I am trying to do some of my research in advance, to get an idea of costs. One of the many issues I'm checking is vehicles. My current car is a 5yo Nissan Almera automatic, which is a great car for my current suburban existence but ill-suited to agricultural use -- because it's lousy at towing any sort of weight, and has little load capacity. I reckon that my on-farm needs can be best managed with a 4WD utility quad bike and small trailer. 4WD and soft tyres is ideal for getting over the damp land in question, and a quad is much lighter than a tractor. -
C4 Picasso 6 Apr 2007 (Forum)
Pulling away was easy enough, move the small lever on top of the steering column to ?A? and press the accelerator pedal, the electronic parking brake automatically releases and away you go. The steering feels very light with little feedback, but for this type of car I would expect this, building up speed the car started to move up through the gears, not the smoothest of changes, even my 10 yr old Accord manages smoother gear changes, but then I suppose it is not a conventional auto box. -
Aisin (Japanese) Carb-equipped - The Snake Pit : Stripping a Late 80's Carburettor 16 May 2016 (Forum)
I've done a couple of simple motorcycle ones (Kymco Zing 150cc Honda CG125 clone, and Yamaha RZR 133cc 2-stroke) a few times and had evolved a technique involving boiling with automatic washing powder, and then blasting the passages out with first the detergent, and then alcohol. The latter gets around the lack of compressed air, the former the fact that, in my limited experience, the sludge in motorcycle carbs was mostly a greyish mineral-looking deposit (maybe a corrosion product?) -
Audi A4 - Identical Fault code 65535 on ABS & Airbag Audi A4 9 Jun 2015 (Forum)

I have a 15 year old Audi A4 1.9TDi SE (automatic tiptronic, 4 door saloon, B5 model, engine code AJM, 85KW, 115bhp, on a 2000 X plate with 100,000 miles on the clock, VIN= WAUZZZ8DZ1A052193, Model Designation 8D2 OFK 3526492) which has the following warning lights present on the dashboard: 1. -
My Toyota Prius Review 7 Sep 2011 (Forum)
And verified by re-filling when i got back i can confirm i did 52 to the gallon. Quite impressive for a big five door automatic driven by someone who's a stranger to the eco hybrid world. Liked Good comfortable seats, fantastic EV mode, good economy, good size and well laid out. And at 6ft i was perfectly fine in the back also. -

2024 Toyota Yaris or 2025 Suzuki Swift CVT - 2024 Toyota Yaris or 2025 Suzuki Swift CVT 8 Sep 2025 (Forum)
I live on a small private close and evenings are generally the only time I have a chance to sit in the car in ready mode for half an hour or so. The problem is that the headlights are automatic and there is no off switch, so they come on at night. Two neighbours have complained about the harsh lights, which has meant I either have to drive for half an hour or park the car further down the close in order to avoid upsetting people. -
Any From The Guardian - Electric car short term lease 16 Mar 2021 (Forum)
For £389 a month – with no up front deposit – Onto will provide a Renault Zoe 135 capable of about 190 miles on a full charge. As with Netflix, the contract automatically renews each month unless you cancel, meaning that as long as you keep paying, the car stays outside your house. Included in the monthly fee is the insurance, maintenance and servicing, tyres, breakdown cover, the London congestion charge registration – and charging at 11,000 public chargers. -
Citroen DS5 - My Road Test Report 13 Mar 2015 (Forum)
On the headlining, the space between the two glass roofs is separated by an overhead console which houses the controls for the sunblinds, interior lights and two “call” buttons, one for SOS emergencies and one for breakdown assistance. The former automatically alerts a call centre in Luxemburg with the exact location of the car using GPS, who then contact the emergency services. The SatNav was one of the worst I have come across for ease of use.
