  • Thinking of buying car which had the keyless optio 24 Apr 2025 (Forum)
I'm sure the more experienced, steal to order could steal the car but as its almost 10 years old and I doubt they'd want to.   I've looked around the websites and so on but always end up with the keyless cars. The car I am hoping to buy will only start with a key and has no start push button.
  • Fabia, Jazz or Polo - Fabia, Jazz, Polo, which is best 1-2 yr old petrol 13 Sep 2011 (Forum)
We are looking to replace our Toyota Aygo (2006) petrol with a 1 to 2 year old car, which is driven approx 6500 miles p.a. We would like to keep the replacement for ten years or more. Daily commute is 20 mile round trip, urban and also motorway. Other trips include around town of 1 to 6 miles.
  • Renault Megane - Suitable Replacement for Mk1 Megane 26 Apr 2011 (Forum)
Having had my 1997 Renault Megane 2.0 RXE from new, it's time for a change. The old lady is bowing out gracefully with a bit of rust on the rear wheel arches and increasingly niggling little problems. Not worth spending much on it now as it's still going to be a 14 year old car and all's downhill now with it.
  • Peugeot Partner Combi (2001 - 2004) - Partner / Berlingo clutch operation 12 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I'm interested in a Partner or Berlingo around 5-8 years old. Probably 1.9 or 2.0 diesel depending on what's avaliable for the funds I have to spend. Problem is I have a duff left leg so although I can drive manuals it's painful. I have, however, got an unused Mobility autoclutch I intended fitting to my old Land Rover that I now intend using on any new car.
  • Loaded for No Claim 8 Feb 2008 (Forum)
I am about to change my insurance company to get a better deal. In comparing my new quote with my old one, I noticed my old statement of demands and needs recorded an incident where I had reported a third party bumping my car whilst parked. The third party agreed to pay but because he was tardy in paying up I reported the incident to my insurers making it very clear that there would only be a claim if the third party fail to pay.
  • 306 front suspension noise 11 Jun 2004 (Forum)
306, 1995 DT, 150K I have recently replaced the front struts, springs, wishbones on the front of my dear old 306. Since the work the car drives perfect, holds the coners, no bouncing, I could not be happier, however, every so oftern there is a funny vibration type noise. It sound like a window chattering (but it is not) It definately comes froms the suspension area, on a certain road @ 55mph it sings away, It happens more oftern when the driving with passengers.
  • Good old-fashioned cassettes 28 Jul 2003 (Forum)
I've noticed that the BR has been getting a little 'heavy' lately so, in the intention of lightening the mood, I've started this thread. How many of us out there still have only a radio/tapeplayer in the car rather than a CD/minidisc/mp3/wax cylinder player? And if you do have a tape player, what mouldy, broken old tapes are languishing in the back of your glovebox? For the record, I only have a tape player and I can muster the best of Paul McCartney, Tony Bennet Swings, The Three Tenors, Round the Horne Vol 2 and several home made ones including The Rocky Horror Show, Barry White, Robbie Williams' Swing When You're Winning and a 70;s compilation.
  • BMW Boxer 23 Jul 2002 (Forum)
What I intend doing is draining the old petrol from the tank and carbs and filling up with new, and jump starting it from my car to the old knackered battery. Advice on two points would be appreciated: I) If it doesn't start as above any ideas what do after checking that the spark is OK 2) Will there be any lasting problems with the bike because of it's lack of use?
  • Car of many colours 1 Aug 2009 (Ask HJ)

  • Citroen C3 - advice re old Citroen C3 13 Jul 2024 (Forum)

  • Hyundai i30 - Paint peeling off 17 Apr 2020 (Forum)
It seemed to be where there were stone chips and it was just peeling off in big chunks.  I was using an ordinary garden hose and not a pressure washer.  OK the car is 11 years old but I have never heard of this happening before.  I assume it is the environmentally friendly water based paint being used.  Bring back the old Dulux and <expletive deleted> the environment.
