  I bought my last car back in March 2017, It was a Pre reg Clio with the 1.5 Diesel engine and it was one of the last diesel cars that had Zero car tax. Apart from a water leak after i bought it that was repaired and Renault compensated me with 4 years free service plan , Everything has been fine with the car , 57 mpg approx and still running the same tyre's , The car now has 26K on the clock.  I bought the car for £11.500 from Renault retail.

  There's a possibility that it could be a useful replacement for Mrs SDAs Yaris Verso auto. The pricing looks good at around £14K and from the Renault website I think that includes 4 years servicing and warranty. BTW the Renault Zoe website is more style than substance, that's why I say 'I think'. If it is the case then it knocks about £500 off a 'normal' cars first 3 years costs.

  My father in law rarely washes his Lexus, and it is always peppered with droppings, but when it gets washed there is never a mark on the paintwork! Obviously comparing a Renault to a Lexus is like comparing a Lada to a Jaguar, but paint is paint, and if Lexus (Toyota) can get it right, why can't Renault? I'm tempted to get a signwriter to cover the Renault in our list of problems, and then I'll park it outside the dealership!

  The Citroens was a bit slow in operation but the car had a hill-hold which would seem to be essential with hand-brakes like this. If the Renault had a hill-hold, it wasn't working on our car, making hill starts very difficult. The PSA 1.6HDI has a slight power advantage over the Renault 1.5DCi, and this really showed on the road where it goes very well, despite the larger body of the Citroen.
