  Although french car manufacturers seem much maligned in general, I have noticed that your average 10 year old french motor has very little or no rust compared to the equivalent age Ford/Vauxhall offering...opinions? P.S. I exclude Renault from this as they tend to rot IMHO...

  Have tried Autotrader for similar but given the scarcity it's a little hard to come up with a realistic price. It's a Renault Scenic RX4 2.0 petrol model. On an 03 plate, 19,000 miles, full Monaco spec (leather, climate etc). FSH Any estimates as to what to advertise for privately? Cheers

  I am thinking of moving to France to live - I currently drive a rhd diesel Renault Scenic and would want to change it for a lhd version. Where would be the best place to do it, here or there. Or should I sell here and re-buy there? Regards

  I was told that they would order the parts but it would take time, are you with me so far ?, because it gets better; later that day Renault rang me to ask why my vehicle wanted all these parts. I referred them to the garage responsible Renault Main dealer In BURY Lanc's. The total is, it is now 40 days since it was taken in and although I have been offered a courtesy car by Renault which I refused so as not to cause any damage due to my rather large dog that travels in the rear.I have rang the garage several times and the reception promise to ring back.

  I had the erg valve cleaned last year as my car lost power and spewed out black smoke. I have also changed the oil and filter my self a year ago after it was cleaned, I asked Renault about the recommended oil and they said any semi-sympathetic would do, I decided to go to GSF and get car lube as they said it was a good oil Followed by top ups with fully sympathetic, Renault actually told me I did not need it.

  I was slighty shocked at this, as Renault say they must be changed with the cambelt, and this is what I had asked for. Now, I have not contacted the dealer yet, I wanted to get some advice first before I do. I have had a quote from a Renault specialist to change the belt and tensioners, and they have quoted £450, and Renault want £600-£700.
