mini cooper s 1 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Having been delighted with my previous Mini Cooper, I bought a Mini Cooper S in July 2003 from deleted . Unfortunately my particular vehicle had a fault when moving off from cold. Although the dealer rectified this by reprogramming the software, it resulted in a new fault, causing \"lumpy\" acceleration between 2500 and 3500 rpm; I believe this problem is well known to BMW, and has been described by American enthusiasts as the Yo-Yo effect. -

High mileage Tesla Model S 15 Apr 2024 (Forum)
v=wOFfKQ7SxEg"> Came upon this interesting clip from Fully Charged with Robert Llewellyn chatting to the (Australian) owner of a 2018 Tesla Model S which has done over 700,000km!. No, it isn't on its original battery, but the reason for the replacement wasn't because the original had degraded beyond being viable. No, it was replaced because a (software?) -
Learning to drive in the late 2030's 22 May 2023 (Forum)
Whilst out today I followed a Tesla with L plates. Got me thinking that there will come a time in the mid to late 2030's when the majority of driving school cars will be EVs and, unless the rules are changed, new drivers won't be able to drive cars with a manual gearbox. Many first drives at present are older 'bangers' and manual and all those classics which they won't be able to enjoy. -

SEAT ALTEA - SEAT Altea S TDi 2 Jun 2012 (Forum)
Hi my family are considering buying a SEAT Altea S TDi on motability. I owned a SEAT Ibiza SDi ten years ago which was very economical and mechanically solid, but the build quality was poor. I gather the quality on newer SEATs is a lot better and are the cars still mechanically good. -
Ford S-MAX - Should I be concerned? 26 Mar 2012 (Forum)
I test drove a 2.2 diesel (200PS) S-Max today. 6 months old, 2000 miles. At the end of a 10 minute drive the fan stayed on for at least 5 minutes and there was an "enginey" smell. The salesman assured me the fan staying on was normal and the smell was due to the way the engine had been cleaned. -
Peugeot 205 diesel hatch - N/S front wheel no drive 8 Apr 2010 (Forum)
Hi, I have lost drive on the n/s front wheel discovered after jacking up the front end. Guess this is a drive shaft issue but is this an easy remedy with replacing or not cost effective? How difficult is this to replace DIY or garage. -
Citroen Xantia (1993 - 2000) - 96 1.9 Hydraulic leak from r/o/s pipe to caliper 28 May 2009 (Forum)

Tesla S - Would you buy this car? 27 Mar 2009 (Forum)
Anyone seen the new four door Tesla S: http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/03/27/tesla_unveils_model_s/ Looks pretty good to me apart from the 17" touch screen in the dashboard. Don't think I could afford one though! If this car really could have a range of 300 miles on a charge then at some time in the future, we could all be driving proper electric cars. -
Ford S-MAX (2006 - ) - (2006-) 2.5 turbo - Wipers configured for LHD 1 Feb 2008 (Forum)
My S-Max (2.5 turbo petrol titanium) wipers seem to be on the wrong way round, configured for left hand drive. The longer one is on the passenger side and sprays water onto the drivers side windscreen on return to its resting position. -

Increased consumption 4 May 2003 (Forum)
Over the past 3 months or so my car\'s fuel consumption has increased markedly. Average consumption used to be in the high fifties. Now it\'s about 50 mpg. The car is a Peugeot diesel (mileage 204,000) I can\'t detect a leak & my driving pattern hasn\'t altered.
