Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI - Ford Fiesta 1.4 TDCI Injector Issue 3 Aug 2017 (Forum)
The next day, 100 miles from home, and the same thing happens. Recovery company took the car to a garage before towing us home. They suggested an injector issue. Local independent has looked at the car - still in limp mode and showing the dash errors above - and the fault code suggested injector number one needs an inspection / likely replacement – quoted approx. -

Seat/Alhambra 2004 1.9 Automatic Diesel - Contacts failure? Unobtainable part 7M3713203e-mcu 17 Apr 2013 (Forum)
Brief period when the car was fine, then two weeks later the problem recurred, but this time restarting the engine did not remedy the problem. Limped home in first gear - very scary. Had car towed to local dealer who ordered the part on 30 January 2013. The car has now sat at the dealer for 11 weeks waiting for the part. The part is 7M3713203e-mcu. There is still no schedule for the manufacture of the part. -
Scudo Van Comfort 1.6 Multijet - Warranty - major fault - Sale of Goods Act 1979 24 Feb 2013 (Forum)
In the 4th year the car stopped mid driving. My local garage towed it in and advised after initial checks that something is wrong with the main processor. I called the company who sold me the car, and they advised to bring the car to the authorised FIAT repair dealership (in my case DAF in Theale). -
Vauxhall Zafira - Warranty 15 Aug 2012 (Forum)
My Zafira (DY 10 PLATE full service history) temprature warning light came on when I was driving on the motorway and when I found a safe place to pull over close to an exit (had 4 kids in the car) I stopped the car. The car would not start and so I contacted my vehicle recovery supplier who came and towed me to safety. Upon inspection they advised that my car needed to go to a garage. The garage then took a week to identify the problem and quoted information stored on a black box being provided to Vauxhall. -
Honda CR-V - Unidentified Noise on a 59 reg Honda Cr-V 31 Oct 2011 (Forum)
As a caravanner, when driving solo it's only there when accelerating fairly hard but when towing it's very annoying. It's right in the rev range that seems to be used nearly all the time and it's always under load. My dealer acknowledges that there is a noise but tells me there is no other cases known to Honda and is reluctant to just start slapping new bits on without knowing the cause. -

Mazda MX5 (1998-2005) - Engine overhaul disaster: Any recourse? 6 Dec 2009 (Forum)
The AA man was staggered, said he'd assumed I'd run out of petrol. "MX-5 engines never go wrong," he said... Towed to a main dealer (different one) who agreed to take it in part exchange for another MX5. (I needed a car desperately.) They gave me only £500 for it... Before this I had obviously spoken (initially via email) to the offending garage but the Main Man, said Tough. -
Mazda 6, what to watch out for? 13 Jan 2007 (Forum)
One reader had ... brake discs re-skimmed (23,000 miles: again seems to be a common problem). ... On the 136PS 5-speed diesel, labouring of the engine in 5th (and towing) can lead to a short 5th gear life as the selector pins wear. Not a problem on later 6-speed box. " I don't fancy paying for clutch or gear repairs and can't afford the newer 6-speed version. Do the clutch problems affect all versions of the 6? -
Anyone Know How To Drain An Astra? 28 Apr 2003 (Forum)
The nice man from the RAC was duly called, and he offered me two options - an expensive one (£150-ish) involving a 24-hour garage, or a tow home and a wait until Monday for a cheaper garage to open. I opted for the latter, and the car is now marooned here awaiting a stomach-pump. The RAC chap said that if I could remove all the fuel (or almost all) and then fill it up to the top with diesel, a trip to the garage would be unnecessary (he said that even the cheaper garages would charge me the best part of a hundred quid). -

2008 Mazda 6 2.0 Diesel - Losing Power 1yr+, Engine & DPF Light & Rising oil 28 Feb 2011 (Forum)
Twice RAC were called out with loss of power, and both mechanics told me not to drive it, was a turbo problem. 1 felt the loss of power as he drove it, the towed it. It went on and off and I took it back, and back again to find no fault and in the end I got so fed up of having to have it in the garage and having a hire car, I just got used to driving like that sometimes. -
DS the early years 28 Jul 2021 (Forum)
Citroen had a team of trouble shooters who would be dispatched to deal with DS problems. Cars they were unable to fix were, if possible, towed away under cover of darkness save anyone seeing the new flagship as unreliable. But the issues themselves were numerous. Hydraulics, predictably, caused many headaches, leaking all over the place, including into the radiator.
