W reg Ford fiesta - Radio code 4 Sep 2013 (Forum)
My battery went flat after my 'mate' left the interior lights on overnight and now I can't operate the radio. It's a Ford 3000 Traffic and the serial number is M180308, but as the car is so old I don't even have the original owners manual and the back of the radio doesn't have the code scrawled anywhere. Can you help me please? -
Golf Mk VII Estate - Golf MkVII Estate - Handbrake? 9 Jul 2013 (Forum)
Does this mean that the new estate does NOT have an electronic parking brake? This is the one feature that puts me off buying this car. I am too old to cope with change or am I fussing about nothing? -
Any - Power Steering Fluid 8 May 2013 (Forum)
Does this need changing at regular intervals ? I just topped it up in the office runabout car, a Mondeo 2.0 Estate 2008, and I put a bit too much in, so I sucked the excess out with a syringe, and noticed that the old stuff is kind of chocolate colour, and the new stuff much clearer and lighter. -

Audi A4 - steering problems with A4 14 Dec 2012 (Forum)
My sons A4 is a high mileage diesel estate about 10 years old. Recently the car has been difficult to steer, pulling both sides, going where it wants on bumpy roads etc. The tracking has been checked, the tyres are ok and the local garage has had it up on the ramp and cant see any problems. -
Mercedes E Class saloon - which one to buy? 5 Nov 2012 (Forum)
Looking to treat myself to a 2/3 year old E Class saloon. Needs to be automatic and I quite fancy the flippy paddles to gearshift. I like my cars to be fairly quick but not to AMG standard. Therefore fuel economy is not an issue here. -

Seen Anything New/Unusual Resurrection 3 Sep 2011 (Forum)
Thought i'd kick off part three of our journey around HJ member's travels searching for any car (or any type of vehicle) which has been new, unusual, surprising in any way. I'll kick this one off as this morning i was at a roundabout behind an old Oldsmobile Cutlass in red with a white roof. Must be one of very very very few in the UK surely. -
Biodiesel 29 Jul 2010 (Forum)
Now I am normally an observant person and would have noticed this before and the fact that the transfers look new compared to the diesel transfers that are old and worn. Is this something new Jet garages are doing or is this what they have always done. Do any other suppliers do this and could it cause damage to any of the diesel engines in cars at present. -

Volkswagen Passat (2001 - 2005) - 02 1.8 What are Track Correcting Bearings 21 Jan 2010 (Forum)
A few yeas ago, the VW brochures for the old shape Passat used to talk about track correcting front wheel bearings. I would assume that this would be true of the Audi and Skoda range also as they share most of the underpinnings. What are these and does anyone know if they are still used on the more recent VAG cars ? -
New 1-50 insurance group classification system 6 Jan 2010 (Forum)
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/EDITORIAL/CARS/news/new_insurance_groups_introduced.html My 1.3 Ka has gone from insurance group 3 under the old scheme, to 11 on this new scheme. I really hope this doesn't hike up my premium - this year finally looked like the first year the insurance would actually be a reasonable amount for me! -

Volkswagen Golf III (1992 - 1997) - 97 2.0 Jerky at low revs. 23 Jun 2009 (Forum)
If you back off the throttle and then go back on the car is very jerky. It will also occasionally be hesitant when accelerating. It has had new plugs, distributor cap and rotor arm; the leads are about 3 years old. It feels more like a fuelling/metering fault.
