i have re-bled the system and checks for fuel leaks and this appears to be ok i thought it might be a blown turbo? or perhaps a dodgy fuel injection pump? I keep the car well serviced and its done 160k any advice on where to start would be welcome thanks will -

As a petrochemist I concur with your comments on the effects of driving habits on DPFs and EGR valves. 27 Jul 2013 (Ask HJ)

Hyundai ix35 - Shall I keep my diesel car or replace with petrol? 15 Apr 2018 (Forum)
Hi I need some expert advice whether to keep my diesel car or to change for a Petrol car. I bought Hyundai ix35 Diesel 65 plate from new (guess EURO6) and so far it worked fine as I was doing around 20K miles every year. Now I have got a job locally so I just travel 3 miles daily and around 10 miles on the weekends for grocery shopping. -

Ford C-MAX (2003 - 2010) - 04 1.6 tdci Total Excellium Diesel 11 Feb 2009 (Forum)

Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 1999 1.9 diesel estate. Cold starting problem. 17 Dec 2007 (Forum)
I took it to one garage and they put in new oil and a new starter motor. A few weeks later I went to another garage and they put in a new fuel pump idle control valve which cost about £20 plus labour. The mechanic said we'll try it,might help, but it hasn't made any difference. I find that garages don't always know a lot about diesel engines so they experiment....we'll try this we'll try that and see if it works. -
VAG Diesels 11 Feb 2002 (Forum)
And before the DERV brigade start writing abuse..... just try the new TDCI Focus, performs just like a petrol and doesn't even sound like a diesel except if you are outside. You can buy a lot of fuel for the £1200 premium though. Until I drove the 130Tdi I was on the point of buying an A4 Avant, the experience has so soured my view of the car that I probably won't buy now. -
Nissan X-Trail 2.2Di Sport - Intermittent Power Loss / Surges - Fuel air leak?? 31 Aug 2014 (Forum)
3/ Is it normal to have to continue to prime once the engine has started? 4/ Should an air bubble rise from the direction of the fuel pump to the fuel filter outlet when the engine is stopped? Or do I still have an air lock/leak maybe in the fuel pump area? 5/ Should the fuel drain away from beyond the fuel filter if I disconnect the filter outlet pipe or should it hold there waiting for the main fuel pump to suck it in and compress it? -
Fiat Grande Punto 1.9 - Had the car only 3months..what are my rights! 22 May 2012 (Forum)
The garage said they had a good look around and everything mechanicaly looks ok and could not pin point the problem, but if they had a guess it could possably be the 'Fuel Injectors' as the engine seems to be working very hard and recommended i go to a Diesel Injector Specialist as they do not have the tooling and specialist equipment to diagnose and fix the problem. Fortunate enough there is Diesel Fuel Injection Specialist down the road from my work. -
Diesel to Petrol 27 Jul 2017 (Forum)
Fast forward a few days, I've used Car Wow to secure a 13% discount on a new Sportage '2' petrol, from a different dealer from where I had the C'eed serviced. I only did 9000 between annual services in the C'eed so diesel no longer seems necessary. Gone are the days are commuting 500 miles a week, but I'd grown used to diesel so that's what I bought. Recent reports of diesel falling out of favour and ever increasing complicated engines have lead to think petrol is the (immediate) future. -
Modern diesel engines - looking after one to get the best out of it 20 Mar 2013 (Forum)
I'm now on my 4th diesel car - this time a C Class W203 CDI220 (2006) with 81000miles on the clock. Previous diesel cars I owned were all VAG cars (VE and PD engines), so this engine is all new to me in terms of it being common rail and Euro 4. -
Modern diesels - is there really a problem? 26 May 2008 (Forum)
My only thought at the time was that she was filling the can for the lawn-mower - and it was going down as 'expenses'! After paying, she drove away in the large Volvo estate and my wife said "hang on, wasn't that a diesel car - it was a D5 - what was she putting in the can?'. Maybe we'd got the wrong end of the stick, but it's seeing something like that which puts me right off a s/h diesel. And all these diesels that develop problems in later life ......... how many of those are the result of an earlier mis-fueling? -
Diesel options 31 Jan 2006 (Forum)
So my options are; 1) Sell my Golf privately (£10-£10.5k?) and get the TDi 2) Trade it in and see the money come back in fuel savings 3) Sell my Golf privately and get a Fabia VRs/Old shape Leon 130Tdi or similar (i used to have a Leon and liked it alot) 4) Keep my Golf because my annual mileage of circa 20k prob wouldnt cost me a alot mor in petrol than it would in Diesel. 5)Any other options Thansk in advance! -
Derv AND 2 star mix up 2 Jan 2004 (Forum)
As reported in the local press this week, the following occurred at a supermarket in Surrey. Diesel was delivered into their Unleaded tanks. Later admitted that \"we did have a problem with the diesel as well.\" I assume that was Petrol delivered into the Diesel tanks. \"customers who had diesel put into petrol cars will be fully compensated but if it happened the other way round it is different\" \"If more than 20 per cent of petrol was filled in to a diesel tank then it would cause damage to the car\" A customer complained after getting fuel that \"it sounded really weird\" so went to their garage who told her not to drive it. -
