FORD RANGER SUPERCAB 4X2 DIESEL, 2000 - FORD RANGER MK1 2000 MYSTERY PROBLEM 31 Jan 2019 (Forum)
But now the problem has returned and this time, the glow plug light is staying off and I cannot start at all. Yesterday it was running fine, I parked it in very hot weather for a few hours, but by the time I came back to it, it was dark and cool, I turned on the key - no glow plug light, and it turns over but won't start. It does not start with 'easy start' either. -
Speeding (mostly excl cameras) XXIX 21 May 2005 (Forum)
We all seem to think that we get a hard time through speed cameras and parking fines etc. If only motorists would stick to the letter of the law the powers that be would soon have to withdraw somewhat as their dastardly scheme to get every last penny from us would soon be non-profitable. -
Civic Power Steering 11 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Hi i have had a honda cicic 1.6 esi for a few years the only problem i have with it is that the power steering is too light. It is fine for parking but feels way too sensative at speed, you really need to concentrate on what you are doing with the wheel. is there any thing that can be done to increase the "weight" of the steeing wheel? -
Renault Clio 1.4RT 98> 25 Jul 2005 (Forum)
Peeps, been having intermittant problem for far too long now, i'll explain: My clio 1.4RT runs fine, starts fine, all ECU sensors fine. However if you go out for a run and the engine gets hot, then you sit on low idle for a while (for example sitting in a queue for a car park, far to often where I live) the ECU "dumps" its throttle setting and starts to Idle at 1400rpm. -
Mazda 3 - quick insurance query 1 Mar 2024 (Forum)
I suppose the heading should give it away obviously but just double checking they are not asking to declare all your parking fines, penalty notices etc.? -

Rover 400/414i - Will not start 27 Mar 2004 (Forum)
Last week I parked my car on the way home to pop into the shops. On returning to the car it would not start. When I turn the key all I hear is a click then nothing. It started fine at the beginning of my journey, and the lights work fine. -
BMW 5 Series Touring F11 - Air suspension issue 25 Apr 2017 (Forum)
My suspension intermittently drops on the driver's side rear air suspension when parked. It is fine when driving and there are no error codes on the diagnostics. A leak seems unlikely as half the time it stays level. Any suggestions would be appreciated as it is under warrantee but the garage can't find a fault. -
Ford Focus tdci zetec 2005 - immobiliser problem 3 Dec 2011 (Forum)
Ive reprogrammed the key and all the locks work fine with the remote. Could it be cross interference with similar vehicles parked by or mobile phone/mast interference(last week I was parked right under a massive o2 mast and it played up). Ive spoke to Ford Servicing but as usual its a 'bring it in for us to look at' response Any help much appreciated Thanks -
Protection of Freedoms Bill - Clause 56 - Petition 4 Oct 2011 (Forum)
Part 3, Chapter 2, Clause 56 of The Protection of Freedoms is designed to make the registered keeper liable for any parking fines where it is not possible to identify the driver responsible for the parking infringement. This clause has the backing of, and heavy lobbying from, the British Parking Association due to the revenue stream it will generate for its members. -
Stupidity 30 Sep 2002 (Forum)
The whole thing is a cheap and nasty exercise which will, quite rightly, make motorists think more deeply about the great expense, personal risk, and incovenience of travelling by train. The mailed package is done up in a clear plastic cover to look, at first glance, just like a parking fine notification and how their so called "Publicity Manager" was ever allowed to sanction such stupidity is beyond me. My letter of complaint has asked that he be sacked. Has anyone else received one of these ? -
Vauxhall Vectra C 1.9 cdti 120 bhp - Vectra 1.9 cdti 2004 120 bhp hard to start please 1 Feb 2016 (Forum)
Help!! My Vectra was running fine until Saturday. I parked it up and when I came back 4 hours later it would not start. The engine was turning over and tried to fire up, seemed very lumpy and when I pressed the accelorater it died. -
Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - 2000 1.4 cutting out problem 5 Dec 2008 (Forum)
Hi, for a few weeks now I've been having a problem with my petrol 306. If if park overnight with the nose facing downhill (quite a steep hill), when i start it in the mornings, it starts fine but then seconds later sounds like its spluttering (like it's not being supplied with enough fuel). -
Ka knocking sound at wheel 12 Oct 2002 (Forum)
I have test drove it and there is a knocking sound that seems to come from the wheel. The shock absorber seems fine. I am scared it might be some parking/suspension damage that could be costly to repair. The car is a late 97 with 55K on the clock. Has anyone heard of faults like this or does this seem like accident damage? -
Range rover L322 auto 2003 - ignition key stuck in the switch 10 Dec 2014 (Forum)
Hi John I hope you can help me with this problem in that when I got into my car the other day, put the key in the ignition and started the engine, I tried to move the gear stick out of park and into drive. The gear lever seemed to be stuck in park, it's only when I really pushed down on the brake pedal it moved. I checked all the gear positions before moving off and everything seemed fine. -
Motorbikers - A special case ? 15 Dec 2008 (Forum)
'Motorcyclists have disrupted traffic by riding slowly through central London in protest at parking fees. Since August motorcyclists and moped riders have been required to pay £1.50 a day to use West End parking bays. Around 100 bikers rode from Golden Square around the West End as part of a campaign to have the fees withdrawn and for any fines to be refunded. -
Ford Focus Estate - Ford Focus mk3 one side parking lights problem 24 Apr 2020 (Forum)
Recently though my Focus developed a problem, which I have not yet found a solution to. I own a left hand drive car and my driver side parking lights (1 in front, 1 in the back on body and 1 on the tailgate) are not working. All the other lights work perfectly fine (including brakelight on the broken side). On older Focus models there seems to be separate fuses for parking lights, but on MK3 there are none. -
The old chestnut- need chapter and verse 17 Mar 2021 (Forum)
During a conversation recently a friend insisted that it is good policy to completely ignore the letters from parking companies that follow up their penalty charge notice. She said her son told her it is fine to do this. I was sceptical in view of the laughably named "Protection of Freedoms Act" that has been enacted for some years now. -
Nissan Micra 02 - Could using a copy key mean car won't start? 18 Jul 2014 (Forum)
We bought a Nissan Micra 02 reg from a local garage as our 2nd car - has all been fine except it won't start easily first thing in the morning or when it's been parked in a multi storey car park all day. Took it back to the garage and they said it's because we're using the wrong key - the 2nd key will open doors etc but won't start the car. -
Peugeot 306 1.4 - Screeching noise / power steering failing 18 Apr 2011 (Forum)
Hi all I'm getting a horrible screeching sound when doing low speed turns for parking etc, and it just got worse when the power steering seemed to fail at these low speeds, resulting in me heaving and wrestling the wheel just to get the car out of the car park. It seems to be much worse when starting from cold, and once I get over about 10 mph the steering becomes light as a feather again.
