Ford Focus Soft Top 19 Mar 2005 (Forum)
My father in law has asked me to look up buying a Ford Focus Soft Top, which I believe will not be available in this country for a couple of years yet. Does anyone here know of any companies that would be able to import one for him. Having never owned an imported a car myself would aslo like any thoughts on pros and cons of purchasing this vehicle in this manor. Many Thanks DFTD. -
Used BMW 523i 3 Sep 2001 (Forum)
Am thinking about buying a S/H BMW 523i. It was imported from Holland, 97R, one (known) company owner, FBMWSH, ~35K, leather, no crunches, and I believe it's a clean car. 1) What would be a fair value for it (does anyone know a good site for imported s/h values?) -
Buying car 1st registered in Ch. Islds. 24 Jun 2006 (Forum)
I spoke to the DVLA about whether the car is classed as an import and they gave me a yes/no answer. The car will always have a history as an import, but in terms of insurance etc is is a fully legit UK car. My concern is that this import history will deter (as it is with me) future buyers when I come to sell the car on. -

X5 mad! 29 Sep 2002 (Forum)
From what HJ's news report says, people are spending crazy money on X5's. Not the type of car I like myself but it looks like people really don't care if the car is imported or not so long as it has the toys (and from Holland, you generally get more toys as standard than youdo in the UK!). There must be some desparate people out there wanting to be seen in the mafia mobile considering some are prepared to pay well over UK price for an import too. -
BMW R80/7 1978 - IMPORTED VINTAGE BMW FOR SALE 3 Dec 2020 (Forum)
It was registered and insured in my name overseas, i have a credit card sized plastic combination owners logbook, insurance and road test (MOT) document, also import clearance paperwork, I have never applied for UK registration . the bike is ex Oman Royal Guard, covered minimum milage and unfortunately the lower end of the engine was replaced at some point, now the numbers do not match. -
Volvo 850 (1992 - 1996) - How important is ABS? 8 Jul 2009 (Forum)
I'm happy pottering around locally with no ABS, but I need to take my Father-in-Law down to Cornwall from Kent on saturday, a 500 mile round trip. Now, I was thinking no problem- the brakes still work; but I got to thinking, how important is the ABS? It is a big, heavy, powerful car, designed with ABS. Am I being a wimp, or are my concerns justified? Will it be okay in the dry, a problem in the wet? Thanks in advance, Alex. PS we do have another car, but the Mrs is using it (long trip also with our son, so I won't be getting that) -

Ford Mondeo warranty 11 May 2005 (Forum)
I am satisfied that the spec is the same. I have spoken to the other company and he has advised me that some cars are imported but the one that I am looking at is British. How do I go about checking that it is British and not an import or should I not worry. -

Why is this car not sold in the U.K.? 24 May 2006 (Forum)
The car in question.. The 2006 Ford Mustang. I see at least one a day of this model around my area all of which are imported no doubt with all the agro and headaches involved with the SVA either for the owner or importer etc GM Corvette is available here so why don't Ford take out all the hard work for buyers by selling it officially here? -

A car that I can do most of my own routine work would be ideal. Any suggestions? Badge snobbery not important at all. Relative reliability most important.
