  • Peugeot 306 (1993 - 2001) - '00 2.0 HDi, High Fuel Consumption 21 May 2008 (Forum)
i took the car to a peugeot garage and they ran their diagnostics and found the following: "Investigate excessive fuel consumption. Checked to find no fuel leaks, checked ecu memory to find multiple faults in system which may contribute to excessive fuel use. parts and prices listed below air flow meter. £106.25 low pressure fuel pump. £220.83 accelerator pedal sensor. £93.94" I dont like the fact they used the word MAY above, and various sources have told me that these diagnostic checks are not always 100% accurate, so im a bit wary on forking out so much money if im not certain its going to fix the problem. 1.
  • Fuel-line cutting epedemic! 21 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Dear all, For those of you who live in the North East of England (which I dont think many of you do) I would keep an eye on you fuel supply lines!. Not so long ago, I remember reading in the local newpaper and on the regional news, that a spate of cars had been sabotaged by their fuel lines being cut. The petrol that was drained off was being used so that they could inhale its vapours, in order to get a 'kick'.
  • Mondeo mk4 2008 2.2 - ford mondeo mk4 2.2 wont run unless easy start 1 Oct 2022 (Forum)
bought a non running mondeo mk4 2008 2.2 titanium x and have tried all sorts to get it running first off the pump/sender unit in the tank was not pumping fuel up to the filter so replaced that .replaced the fuel filter too.the problem im having is it will not start . the clear fuel line that runs from the filter was full of air bubbles so went and fitted an inline pump before the fuel filter so now its constant solid fuel up to the high pressure pump.

  • Ford Fiesta encore1.3 1998 - Ford Fiesta 1.3 1998 fuel pump problem? 16 Jul 2017 (Forum)
hi there   i have a 1998 ford fiesta encore with a 1.3 engine , engine number wj49264 . sometimes the car starts and some times it doesn't , i am pretty sure it is a fuel pump problem but i wanted to post here as it is a bit weird . i can drive the car somewhere and back and go inside for a cup of tea and when i come out the car won't start , i have got it to start once by slamming the boot lid shut , i have removed and replaced all the relays in the box beside the battery and checked the fuel cut off switch , sometimes when it is working fine i get into the car i notice the clock has been reset and reads 0.00 but all i have done is open the door and sit in the car . ( can't remember if i put key in or not but defo had not started car)   has anyone any ideas what i might be dealing with here, i was going to order a new fuel pump but  the previous owner installed a replacement fuel pump about 10 months ago ( not sure if it was new).

  • Vauxhall Astra - Car hire broker contract` 21 Apr 2016 (Forum)
Car Labs told me they would change the cost of the car to 23 euros and the other 24 euros would be taken by the car hire company to pay for the fuel. On checking the voucher it became clear the 24 euros was deposit for the fuel and a payment would be required for the actual fuel at car hire company prices. So to summerise I will be getting a smaller car and paying more for the privilege.

  • Mitsubishi Outlander - loss of power 24 Sep 2015 (Forum)
I had contaminated fuel in my tank and the vehicle started to lose power.  I had my fuel tank drained a few times and each time it got a little better, it then got to the point where the car would struggle to get to 60mph and would shake violently when going up steep hills.

  • Mercedes C class estate - Wide profile tyres and fuel consumption 12 Mar 2014 (Forum)

  • Ford Focus tdci - Focus focus tdci 1.8 2007 non starter 7 Mar 2014 (Forum)
First post so be gentle :)     I have a mates' focus 1.8 tdci here which is failing to start. Seems to be lack of fuel. Have changed fuel filter and seals and also 4 glow plugs as I'm reading a glow plug fault. I realise this wouldn't cause the non start but I understand they can cause limp mode on these engines. I have filled the filter with fuel and tried a spray of easy start into the intake.
  • Honda Civic - Honda Civic sloshing fuel in tank 27 May 2013 (Forum)
Hi All, I recently bought a brand new 2013 2.2 i-DTEC Civic. While I am generally happy with the car, I have one major gripe: when the fuel tank is over 2/3s full, I can hear the fuel slosing around in the tank! This isn't a problem when I'm driving on the motorway, but is quite annoying when driving around town, as I speed up and slow down the fuel sloshes and clumps around the tank.
  • Nissan Micra Tempest 1.0 - Nissan Micra slow fuel filling boredom ! 22 Jan 2013 (Forum)
But I assume the makers decided that Micra owners have all the time in the world and that's why the Fuel Filler tube is so narrow and has a sprung trapdoor in the top, that it blows back when you fill up. This causes the fuel delivery into the tank to slow to the rate of about 20 seconds per litre.
