Ford Fiesta - Help for Son 24 Jan 2024 (Forum)
He has found out today from his boss, that last week when dropping a customers off, he has been photographed by one of these new camera's, the yellow ones, the ones that dont flash or anything and the first thing you know anything about it, is when you get a letter through the post. He was doing 39 in a 30, but he genuinely didn't know what the speed limit was on this particular road, as he had never been on it before and thought it was a 40, going off the speed of the traffic at the time and the distance between each lamp post. -
Brand perception and EV 12 Mar 2021 (Forum)
Nokia was king of dumb phones but it died in smartphone era. Kodak died in digital camera era. How many car companies will disappear in EV era? PS: No idea why "w a t c h e s" replaced with * -
BMW 2 Series Active Tourer - Hit & Run - Driver Found! 23 Nov 2020 (Forum)
Using the anonymous note left on my windscreen with the number plate, CCTV footage from my house camera showing the truck going past my house and whilst not seeing but hearing the sound of impact and the power of social media, I was able to find the culprit at the weekend. The driver initially tried to deny it was him but after seeing the footage and seeing the photo of his number plate, he admitted he heard the impact but thought it may have been the car behind him at the time. -
Land Rover Range Rover Sport - is the least reliable car to buy for the 2nd year 14 Nov 2019 (Forum)
Away from onboard electronic gremlins, owners of Range Rover Sports up to three years old also reported plenty of suspension issues - which tend to be very pricey in big SUVs - and recurring woes with parking sensors and reversing cameras. The likelihood of breaking down was also cause for concern. More than one in ten (11 per cent) of owners had to call out a recovery service at least once in the year before the survey was completed. -

Nissan Micra - Pavement Surfing - Yet Another Near Miss ! 16 Jun 2014 (Forum)
I cannot be certain of the reg plate details as his rear number plate lights were both 'out'. On this occasion I did not have my trusty camera with me so I was unable to pursue the rogue driver on foot and attempt to get a photo to support my report to the local police. However if their response is anything like the disinterest shown when I reported my previous daylight hours 'pavement surfing - near miss' - then I shall be very unhappy. -
Street robbery - pavement people assessment 14 Jun 2011 (Forum)
You see a lot if you sit up by the Cathedral, but you have to hope your own phone doesn`t ring in your pocket - as there are a group of `assessors` on the next bench. All of this with the ring of CCTV cameras too - makes you wonder what it would be like without them. oilrag -
Renault Megane (1999 - 2002) - 1999 1.6 rt 16V - Cambelt change intervals 8 Sep 2008 (Forum)
Call me Mr cynical but I don't fancy spending £620 unless I really have too esp as the car has a low milage for it's age. I drive like an old person because of the amount of speed cameras around here. -
HJ- Daily Telegraph, Ealing Parking Fines 5 Jun 2008 (Forum)
HJ, you mentioned a website that was worth a look to see whether the fine could be challenged, and unfortunately I have been unable to find the paper to find that website. At the same time (Feb 08) my brother was caught 5 times by the same camera at £50 a time. For quite a period before he dropped his partner outside the station (stopping for no more than about 10 seconds on each occasion) for her to catch the train, and then this new scam was introduced and he was caught every day for one week. -
Another of those - "which car should I choose ?" 25 Apr 2008 (Forum)
It's a cracking drive - nothing but fun (although far too easy to speed in, and I think I got busted on a dual carriage way today after a mobile camera was on the side of a 50 zone, just after it dropped from national, and I was doing 62. D'oh!). However, due to the size of the kit I carry, the boot is marginally too small and trying to get it in and out of the back is a nightmare. -
Hit whilst stationary 13 Dec 2007 (Forum)
One claimed to be her boyfriend , though he looked like her son . Fortunately, she was insured with a well known UK company and secondly, I was equipped with 2 cameras , a digital and my phone's 5 megapixel . My shots are very clear, showing her car embedded at an angle of about 45 degrees into my side from behind . I called the driver a couple of days later , and was surprised she still maintained it was my fault . -
Use of bus lane to pass an obstruction 6 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Does anyone know what the letter of the law is? There are a couple of photos on the fine, they are taken by CCTV cameras rather than from a bus (I wouldn't have pulled into the bus lane is there was a bus coming, for exactly this reason). The first pictures shows me pulling into the bus lane, the second picture shows me pulling out of the bus lane, although 95% of the vehicle is actually in the lane. -
Insurance costs 12 Aug 2004 (Forum)
I am in a low risk profession, have never made a claim in umpteen years of motoring and apart from getting caught by a speed camera three years ago have led a blameless life. My reward for this is that my renewal premium has increased from £405.33 last year to £502.23 this year. Last year they tried it on as well and after a call from me they gave me a "loyalty bonus" of £50 which brought the premium in line with other quotes. -
Speeding fine refund? 5 Sep 2002 (Forum)
Then one Saturday morning there was an unmarked Vectra tucked away behind the cones, with a policeman operating a mobile speed camera. This really annoyed me because the speed limit was intended to protect the workforce, yet this policeman was the only person on site at the time..... Yesterday evening I noticed that, although the cones and barriers were still there, the temporary speed limit signs had all been covered up. -
Speed Hump Damage - Can you claim? 15 Apr 2002 (Forum)
Sure enough about four feet after the hump was a manhole cover protruding about a half inch or so from the surface of the road just in the right place to meet the sump on its way down after passing over the hump. About a yard after the manhole cover started her trail of oil. Fortunately I had a camera handy so have some nice shots of the damage to the car, the start of the oil trail, the manhole cover and its proximity to the hump plus a shot of another vehicle grounding. She is not a 'boy racer', she is a mid-fifty year old, well respected, local school-teacher driving a 94 Metro and insists that she was doing no more than 15 mph when she went over the hump. -
court speeding today...result 8 Apr 2002 (Forum)
My mitigation was that as it was the same stretch of road and two minutes apart, it should be treated as one offence. They were both cameras one mile apart. For the nice person who stated that that would be 30mph in between, I thankyou. However, I figured if they delved into it too deeply maybe it was at 0500.59 secs and 0502.00 secs. -
