Renault Espace (2002 - ) - three way swap advice 21 Jan 2010 (Forum)
However we no longer really need a full 7-seat version so are looking at C4, new pug 5008 and Grand Sceinic. We know that p/e values will be poor but we have a plan. Our friends have a s-reg Espace, which they too like, but they can now get ours for whatever trade offer for it. In addition we also know another a couple with a P-reg 806 which is pretty abused, but runs. Plan is friend 1 has the 06 ESpace, friend 2 has the s-reg Espace, and I take the 806 as the P/E to offer against new or nearly new smaller 7-seater, possibly as scrappage. is there anything I need to consider in this? -

Tales of repairs on old motors 26 May 2008 (Forum)
I have been prompted to post on the basis of a fascinating description given by John S on how to repair the bracket that holds the engine top stay on an old style Mini, posted in technical. His post was a form of literature that will soon be lost forever. He described a lengthy and complex repair involving relatively cheap parts that these days would not be done, the car would probably just be scrapped. -

Perception of quality - Standing the test of time 27 Aug 2007 (Forum)
"Posh trim is more to do with vanity than real quality, a bit of niceness you?d like to surround yourself with. And it?s so easy to fall for. The only real test of build quality is time." This is part of an interesting article in Car on trying to differentiate between the so called perceived quality that you touch versus the real quality of car that stands the test of time in terms of reliability and durability. -

Everyone's Favourite - Car Insurance 2 Oct 2006 (Forum)
Or, I?m guessing, if I don?t take them up on this offer and my answer of ?it?s just the standard on fitted by the manufacturer? doesn?t satisfy them then my premium will increase. Probably by around £35. When I completed the online form I?m sure I?ve indicated ?Standard Equipment? -
Failed Hydraulic Tappet ? (Polo) 1 Mar 2006 (Forum)
Am I right in thinking that it's a relatively straightforward job on this unit? Also, if its only one tappet that?s shot, can you replace just one and in any case, how long do you think it would take an experienced garage to do (then I can work out the cost). Sorry for all the questions (1043cc 1993 Polo)
