  Just been on the radio, so I checked it out. £100 for a long term return on Eurotunnel this summer. Good news for people going accross! Apparantly no one was using it (surprise surprise at £300 a go!)

  Heard on radio 5 this morning that there are plans in London to get rid of all/most zebra crossings due to over use. The over use is causing too much backing up of traffic. I suppose these are all to be replace by pelicans

  Anybody hear the radio news the other night. One of the Yorkshire Forces is investigating the wanton destruction of Speed cams. Apparantly this henious crime is manifested by the ramming and or torching of at least six in the Darlington area.

  I did a round trip of 105 miles to hear another recommended repairer tell me that as he'd found a small coin inside the radio my radio was finished and I'd need to buy a new one from Nissan or used on on eBay (these are a rare thing to find and cost £500 new, £200 used, sometimes £100 used but may not work if out of their original vehicle unless reset by the authorised service centre).

    I also doubt their life span.  My experience of touch buttons on printers, washing machines, radios etc are that they start to fail after about 5 or 6 years of regular use.  OK - you can take the circuit board out and solder on a new one but how many of us are going to do that on a car dashboard?

  The drivers side front audio speaker is not working. I have checked the speaker itself is ok (swapping side to side). I have removed the radio and metered from the speaker plug from the back of the radio to the wires coming out of the door for the speakers. Apart from the fact that the colours do not match those of the Haynes manual, the passenger side rings through Ok but only one of the wires on the drivers side does - the violet wire is 'open circuit' - obviously the problem.

  For some time the screen display has been changing or bringing up menus every time I pulled on the handbrake. Then the other day the radio channels began to change on their own.   Wise forum, In order to keep SWMBO quiet during long journeys, I am looking at fitting a CD changer to our Mk IV Astra. I'm quite keen on keeping the standard fit radio / cassette, so I want to fit a CD changer which will plug into the aerial lead. Questions: 1) Has anyone had any experience of the Kenwood KDC-CMP59FM CD/MP3 changer & modulator? 2) Are there any units where the main unit can sit in the boot, and the modulator sits behind the radio - i.e., so I don't have to re-route the aerial lead to/from the boot?
