  • diesel pump timing/turbo questions 30 Jan 2003 (Forum)
Can anyone please tell me the symptoms (more noise, loss of power etc) of a diesel injection pump with the wrong timing (too far advanced or retarded) I have 2 rover 218 cars, one has the citroen 1.9 non turbo engine, the other has the citroen 1.7 turbo diesel engine. They are both noisy (diesel clatter) when cold, but when warm, the 1.9 quietens down, but the 1.7 is still very clattery at idle and under load. also the 1.7 has no bottom end power until the turbo starts boosting. the 1.9 has a lot more bottom end power, but obviously is not as lively at the top end due to lack of a turbo.

Volswagen Phaeton - controversial, especially when I could have a ferrari or new RangeRover, but ridiculous speed and as anonymous as a big passat.... 2. Citroen C3 1.4HDi - love citroens, love diesels, great reviews 3. 206 CC Roland Garros - seems every lady loves the 206, and a full luxury convertible version would make a great mothers day present! • Switches and controls you like-dislike 13 Dec 2009 (Forum)
I used to like the foot dipswitch on the old Torris Traveller and that pod on the older Citroens that was by the steering wheel and did everything just about. I like the foot operated handbrake on my old Merc but some hate it! Any controls you love or hate?
