• Ford Fiesta LX 2002 - Immobiliser Issue! 6 Mar 2013 (Forum)
  My Ford Fiesta has been off the road for a while. I tried to start it (after recharging the battery) and something clicks a few times near the glove box and the immobiliser flashes very rapidly and you get an EAC failure alarm in the clock LCD. Is there anyway to override this? Any help very much appreciated!

  Can anyone help, not sure if my Polo has remote locking or not, I have a press button on my key fob which appears to be for remote? but it does not remotely lock the vehicle can it be the battery has gone or is just that remote locking is not an option on my Polo's spec....help   Ed

  Hi, "Malfunction at consumer unit" in display panel in front of steering wheel. Both batteries, engine and boot, have been replaced but this error still shows up randomly. In frosty weather when this error shows up the car wont start without jump leads. All other times it drives as normal any ideas?

  Just had the battery in my car disconnected and now it is asking for the 4 digit unlock code, which I never recieved when I bought the car! The serial number starts with V so does this mean I wont be able to get the code for free online?

  When the car is cold in pretty much kangaroos its way down the road and when it does stutter it pours blue smoke. It disapears when it warms up The battery test has been fine and glow plugs replaced. I was wondering if there was a cold start mechanism on the fuel pump? Any advise appreciated  thanks

    Scan result DTC P0103 Mass airflow high(119.41grams/sec) voltage on signal wire, pin 5 on connector, is 1Volt below battery voltage. Trying to decide if this is a PCM failure or sensor failure.

  I had to change the battery on my wifes old Fiesta. I have a keycode in my audio guide that doesn't work. It says S/N M032361, Key code 4634. Is the code correct for that serial? If it is I suppose I'll have to take the unit out to check the serial number!

Yes, I know they they are a load of rubbish but in spite of that, please would someone remind me of the name of the manufacturer...all I can remember is that the name began with letters RY and, I think was just five letters long.

  help. My immobliser has kicked in because I recharged my battery. I do not have a keypad only a key which only works as a standard key. the car will not start, the lights flash and the little red light is flashing. Please answer in simple speak. It is an N reg " litre turbo diesel.

  I have just tried to sell my1996 FTO and the purchaser told me there was a problem with the tiptronic Gearbox. He said the electronic regulators on the gearbox had been damaged because the battery had been charged on the vehicle and not been taken off prior to charging. He wanted a £1000 reduction on the price to compensate! Is this true and fair. Any help appreciated.

  I'm getting a replacement motor fitted to passenger side door (central locking motor). Also key fob needs new battery. Will key code have to be reset? if so i think i have the number, if not how is this done (reset) for remote central locking? Thanks

  Rover 200 1.4 IE 16v (K16 engine) 2000 'W' Engine will not start - intermittent trouble starting over last 2 weeks - engine turns over at normal speed but will not start - new battery installed, but no different. Will try checking for spark tonight, any other ideas grately appreciated or if any more info needed please ask. Thanks.

  I ran out of petrol (tried to start this morning and jerking) i got about half a mile before it could not start at all. I put some petrol in, and reset the ecu by taking off the negative battery lead. car is xantia 1.8 16v Will i have done any damage to the cat or any other components? its running back to normal now.

  My Volvo V40 Auto was jump-started by the AA after its battery ran flat at the airport. Since then it won't central-lock using the `plip' without the alarm going off. It will unlock on the `plip'and it will central-lock using the key in the door. Am I missing something simple here?

  Hi, I have a 220 gti 1993 non turbo. The other morning i tried to start it but the battery was flat so i tried to jump it, nothing ?. After that only the lights, rear wiper, elect windows and fan works. There are no dash lights , no ignition lights or front wipers or rear heated window.

  The engine cranks but refuses to start or show any inclination to do so when the interior of the car is hot i.e. after left out in the sun. The only clue I have is that the battery charge indicator almost goes out during the cranking with the other electrical indications normal. Thanks in advance for any ideas. Steve
