  The idle on my Renault Megane has become uneven. Does anybody have any experience with fuel sytem cleaners that can be added to the petrol tank? Are they any good? Many thanks Joe.

  The airbag light in my Renault Megane has recently illuminated and now fails to extinguish (nothing has happened to the car). Any ideas as to how I can rectify the problem? Thanks.

  Good morning, We've got the above car from Renault Retail Group about three weeks back and the car has had multiple issues which didn't surface during the test drive. This car has had one previous Owner with a very low mileage on the clock.

  Hi all, In need of urgent help with it being bank holiday and the garages been closed, any help is much appreciated. I was driving my ‘14 plate Renault Clio yesterday to York, when I began to hear a faint whistling sound that sounded like it was coming from the front of the car. This whistling noise was only noticeable when I was accelerating, and began to get noticeably worse.

  Only thing that has changed is my wife passing her test 3 years ago and she now mainly drives the car, so is it her driving , she assures me that she does not drive with her foot resting on the brake pedal and that she is not always braking. (Lookers) Renault are wanting £320 to replace disc's and Pads, Not sure if this is the going rate, but it does need done after checking myself I am very good at DIY and used to do things myself, But knowing manufacturers, They will make it difficult for someone like me to change the discs and pads.

  Hi Great start to 2013... My Renault Scenic has failed to start. Initially the car stated "low oil pressure" and "hand brake failure" with a loud beep. The engine hardly tried to turn over and instead the engine fan run for ages. The engine after it was left for a while was attempted again and once again I got the fault light as well as practically every fault light going.

  A small switch in the compressor was the next attempt, part cost approx £12. Switch fitted, no luck. Maybe should have gone to Renault but we are where we are. My trusty old Laguna (174,000 miles) is still needed until later this year and we also have to go to France twice so need cooling. Can anyone suggest anything please?

  Hi, I recently purchased a Renault Espace diesel from a garage. It was a part ex that they had taken in and were selling on.  They advertised it as having a fault which was that it needed a new water pump. However when I came to purchase the vehicle they were very vague and said that they could not see a leak from the engine but that it needed topping up with antifreeze.

  HELP!! sorry just at my wit's end here. I've got a 2001 Renault Megane auto with 60k on the clock. Its actually a very good car, clean engine, runs really well, etc, etc. BUT and its a big but. Since I got it a year ago I've had intermittent starting problems with it.

  My Renault 2.0 litre petrol Grand Scenic (55 plate) has an autobox which I believe may be by Nissan. There is no torque converter -- it's a robotised manual -- and no Lock or Hold. If manual intervention is called for, you shove the lever to the left and it becomes a flip-lever manual box.

  A few weeks later it started again, the dash board wrote check injection and it started overaving and excellarating itself again. I took it to a renault dealer in Oxford which they charged me £92 for dignostics. They said that the car needed a new throtle pedal which they replaced at £89. A few weeks later the same problem started again this time when i was in trafic doing 10-15 miles per hour and it continued to do that so when I switched the car off it reset itself again.

  Hi I have a 1998 Renault Megane 1.4 with an unusual overheating problem. It boiled over recently during 1st and 2nd gear work on the Hardknott Pass in the Lake District. It's just been to the garage as the electric fan wasn't kicking in, and had a new radiator thermocouple switch, thermostat and refilled with antifreeze and the system bled.

  .) & I also think the Break-Linkages are not very popular/ much asked for - so they won't be expensive...... im looking for a simple but strong bolt-on linkage of a right hand drive car with the master cylinder on the left side... surely i have to customise this linkage because my custom projekt was never sold in a right hand drive version - its a Renault Twingo... I hope someone can help me, give me a hint or whatever... ...to big and bulky is not the problem - what does not fit is made to fit ! has anyone got a picture of such a linkage ? Any Clues for a good general UK-Car-forum ???

  Good Evening everyone! This afternoon I was driving my Renault Scenic Megane Y Reg 1.9dci Dynamique when I heard a noise that I thought indicated a puncture. I was about 4-5ft away from a safe parking space and proceeded to stop but then heard grating type noises sounding like plastic being smashed and my car came to an abrupt halt and a loss of all electrics.

  I drive an X reg Renault Megane Cabriolet 1.6 Dynamique. I am thinking about trading it in as its so impractical and annoying. I wanted to sell it and spend the money on something like a Ford Focus thats 3/4 years old. My car has low mileage and on Parkers it works out about £4200 and similar cars are listed at £4000- £4500.

  Hi guys, Back again... thanks for all your previous input ( http://www.honestjohn.co.uk/forum/post/index.htm?t=38983 ). I put last time that it was a Renualt Megane.... It's a renault scenic but also has Megane on it - so thought it was known in the circles as a megane - gee I own the car and don't even know what car it is - how blonde. Anyway - regarding your suggestion regarding clutch drag causing the crunching into reverse gear only.

  Hi, Can any one help me with a problem I\'ve got with a Renault 19 GTS-X 1.4 ENERGY. The problem is it will not idle. Other than that it runs great, accelerates normally, it doesn\'t misfire, it\'s not using excessive amounts of fuel or oil, and it starts first time every time.

  I read a letter in the Honest John letters section of the Telegraph dated 10th May (3 days after my accident) that in an accident that is not my fault "it is your common-law entitlement to be put back in the position you were in immediately before the other party damaged your property". As before the accident I had a low mileage Renault 5 in perfect working order and with the £500 I can buy a Renault 5 a year older with twice the mileage I do not see this as a fair offer. It is not worth me taking independant legal advice for the sake of a few £100 but if anyone out there has any experience or knowledge in how to procede I would love to hear it.
