  Dunno whether I'm exceeding my authority here, but I've noticed that when people put up links to vehicle auction sites they often feature what I assume to be the poster's postcode.  Given the dangers from online fraud, scamming and identity theft, it might be an idea (if the site will allow you to do this) to clear your postcode details before posting the link.

  A worrying news report on TV yesterday evening - a woman whose car was written off when a tree branch crashed across it during the weekend gales was told by the insurance company that they weren't paying up, as it was an 'act of God'- this would seem to give the companies an enormous loophole to renege on the policies.   Having bought this to the dealership,s attention, I would hope that they check their maintenance schedules and make sure that this work is included - after all, they will not be out of pocket as the cost will be added to any service quotations; that is, if it is not already includes and this is just another garage scam. Perhaps I am being cynical?

  Now from Google Earth, the distance from our house to the exact spot where we were supposed to be parked is 80.1 miles, so a return trip would be at least 160 miles.So if we had done this trip and adding on all the local running about, our mileage would have been greater than the 148 that is documented. So this must be a scam, but how does it work ? I have rung up the hire car company, and told them in no uncertain terms, not to charge my card for a £35 admin fee and to pass my details on to the Parking enforcement company for me to deal with direct, to which they agreed.
