Toyota Prius 21 Jan 2004 (Forum)
I was wondering why Toyota didn't make the Prius a diesel/electric hybrid instead of petrol. For an eco-car I would have thought it've made more sense. Or maybe even an lpg/electric hybrid ? -

Choosing new car due to coming clean air zone 18 Mar 2019 (Forum)
My commute to my place of work is 150 miles round trip so for a long time I've had diesel cars, however I was thinking of possibly getting an old 05/06 car and getting it converted to LPG. The alternative is buying another diesel on a 2015 plate. I'm just wondering if people have an experience with LPG and opinions what people would do if in my situation regards -
Audi A8 (1994 - 2003) - 97 4.2 S8 refuses to start 7 Nov 2009 (Forum)
On my way home last night it ran beautifully, smooth, silent, fast, as best as it ever has which usually means there is an imminent issue with it. Come out this morning and nothing. It has an LPG conversion on it so it stopped on LPG last night. I have tried to VAGCom it but I cannot establish communication with the ECU (not good). I thought it may be the fuel relay but that it is not where it is supposed to be according to the manual which is in the fuse compartment in the RH footwell, there are no relays at all in that compartment. -

Clean simplicity - oh look, another person saying about emissions and power at power stations needed to produce electricity for electric cars! But the person seems to think his petrol, diesel or LPG comes out of the ground in that state and doesnt take into account the emissions and power needed at the refinery to produce the fuel for their ICE car! -

from one extreme to the other 5 Oct 2005 (Forum)
The car didn't even have airbags! I have a budget of 8k. Plus another couple of grand to cover insurance and perhaps an LPG conversion if the car doesn't already have it. I loved the comfort of the LS400, but fancy something more driver oriented. Any experiences of owning 7 series(94-02), S class(91-99) or A8 (95-03)? -

Electric Cars 14 Aug 2001 (Forum)
Kind of a follow on from the pervious note (lpg). Two questions really; 1) What's the state of progress and usability of electric cars these days ? 2) Are they really better than other fuels when you include generating the electricity, making the battery, disposing of old batteries etc. etc. ? -
Volvo 240 Pitfalls and Benefits 20 Jun 2004 (Forum)
My head tells me "gas conversion - may be a good job done properly or it may have been done by a "back street" garage on the cheap and so will make the car run like a pig" but on the other hand, as we'll have to sell our current car and get smething a bit more economical for Mum to be driving round for work in and it costs about £1,000 to get a conversion done, then suddenly looking at these sort of prices, we're getting a car with an LPG conversion already done for less than the price that it would cost to convert one. A friend of ours has a Toyota Camry 3.0GX V6 (1993 K) and he's had that converted to run on LPG but has had it done properly by AutoGas North West and that runs like a treat on the gas and it's certainly paid for itself - his other vehicle that he's had done is a 1987 Toyota SpaceCruiser and although that's had the same treatment at AutoGas North West that's a carburettor whereas the Camry is Fuel Injected but on both those vehicles a good job has been done. -
