Ford Mondeo - Is a 1-year old Mondeo Titanium worth the money? 31 Aug 2015 (Forum)
I was looking at buying an approximately 1-2 year old 10K miles top-of-the-range Ford Mondeo Titanium for about £17K. Then I started seeing adverts for other cars BRAND NEW at about half that cost (or a bit more). OK, I could knock a couple of grand off for a lower spec Mondeo. -
Skoda Octavia II - Air Conditioning sounding like an old fridge 14 Apr 2010 (Forum)
Both of these can only be heard in the car as engine noise outside masks them and stop when the A/C is switched off. I am hoping it is not a compressor as that looks to be both a common and expensive problem. rob -
VW Tourag or Volvo XC90 ? 9 Jul 2007 (Forum)
Hello all. I am looking at replacing my 5 yr old Seat Alhambra with either new SUV (possibly the new Peugeot 4007 or Citroen C Crosser) or, alternatively getting a 2-3 yr old quality SUV such as the Tourag or XC90. I tow a caravan and need a fairly heavy tow car. -
New(ish) "old" Beetles 8 Dec 2004 (Forum)
Some time ago I saw an "old" (original style) VW Beetle on a P-plate (P at the front, as in 1997, not 1977). It was going the other way so I thought perhaps I'd just misread it. On Sunday I saw another, on an R plate. I was walking, it was parked, I got a good look. -
I urge fellow motorists to consider buying older cars, such as my 1996 BMW 328i. 11 Mar 2012 (Ask HJ)

Any - Do I keep the warranty? 12 Feb 2013 (Forum)
Just bought 1 year old car from main dealer. It has 2 years remaining warranty. Previous cars have been too old for this luxury and been serviced by a trusted local independent, so I'm out of touch with the rules. -

recognition test.. 31 Mar 2007 (Forum)
I was sorting through old files and foders last week and discovered old negatives from my college days. The link below leads to a pic. of a fellow student's Topolino that we re-built and ran for a year whilst at the Swansea College of Art. -
Fabricating a part 10 Jan 2007 (Forum)
Bear with me here, but I'm wondering as to the feasibility of making my own pollen filter housing for my car. The current arrangement has 4 (Yes, 4) parts, not including the filter. My old Fiesta had a box with a lid. You took the old filter out, and put a new one in. I don't know what the VAG designers were smoking when they designed the abomination on my car, but I think I could do better. -
Power steering pump - Ford Fiesta 21 Jan 2006 (Forum)
It looks easy enough to get to, but having never done a power steering pump before was wondering if it needed any special bleeding or if there was a specific procedure that needed to be followed. Kinda disappointed that its already playing up on a 3 year old car with 37,000 miles. Ive owned lots of cars, 10 years old with mileage well over 100,000 and never had to change a power steering pump before. -
Wheel trim repair? 22 Sep 2004 (Forum)
Whilst trying to parallel park today, I got a bit too close to a high kerb and ended up giving my poor old trims a bit of scuff. :-( Thing is, they were nearly perfect, and the originals from when the car was new, so I wont throw them away and with the car being 13 years old, they're not easy to come by. -
amazing sighting 10 Jul 2004 (Forum)
I in the Royal Signals in the early 70's in Dorset and my first car was a Viva HB, light blue and very common at the time. In 2000 I was at a reunion in Blandford and who was the car in front at the lights? my old Viva in immaculate condition. The engine gave out on me in about '73 and the local dealers gave me a PX on a Victor. -
Meguires polish. 9 Dec 2003 (Forum)
Is the search engine ok today? I have been trying to look up the old threads on this product without any luck, a search on car "car polish" returns nothing from the forum. I have been using Auto Glym for years but the last bottle of liquid extra shine is not as good as the previous bottle I had. -
