  The dealer got this repaired and we noticed over winter that the lights either side weren’t working properly/ in tandem with similar lights in the car. We raised this as an issue within the 12 months warranty, he sent the car back to the garage he’d used to have the panel replaced and they in turn sent the car to mini as they were unable to fix the issue.

  Hence if the previous owner has not taken good care of the coach work, the car may be prone to rust (i think). Also this car was owned and used in Brighton (on the coast). After investigating various options the vehicle was returned to me with the suggestion of replacing the oil cooler, then it was said that possibly replacement of the radiator "will give us a better chance", total bill of £708 was also presented to me with the payment demand ttfor our ivestigative work and time spent on the vehicle".

Eventually I sold the car for a lot less than it was worth and my next car was full retail UK dealer, since I did not want the insurance hassle. Has anyone had a similar experience, since those TV programs easily point the finger at UK dealers/manufacturers, but then ducked the issue later on when it went sour for us following their advice.
