Why doesn't my Mercedes-Benz E Class have an up-to-date sat nav disc?

I have a Mercedes-Benz E320 CDI estate, which I bought six months ago when it was two years old. I am very pleased with the car in every way apart from the satnav. I am used to satnavs taking peculiar routes, but on a trip to the Forest of Dean, this one took me to the wrong place twice. I contacted Mercedes-Benz who were quick to reply and very helpful. They initially asked me what the version of the disc was which I would find in the CD auto-changer. However there was no disc. They then came back to me with the part number of the latest version. I did say that as the car was still within warranty, could they just send me a disc, but that was turned down. I think a new disc is over £200, so do you think that if I go back to the (main) dealer who sold me the car, I would have any case to get a free replacement or one at a reduced price?

This will be a W211 with the old system, not the hard disc system that is capable of being programmed to find a 7-digit UK postcode. The Navteq discs are always out of date by a varying period, depending on when the data in them was digitised. Late W221 S-Class, all W212 E-Class and late W204 C-Class are fitted with satnav that can find 7-digit UK postcodes or can be reprogrammed to.
