Good Citizen: insurance query (theory) 18 Feb 2005 (Forum)
I was just watching an old Car Wars. There was a pursuit where the scrote was driving on the wrong side of a dual carriageway. A motorist went to pull in front of him (to stop him) then thought better of it. If you aided the apprehension of a criminal by blocking his car, and it resulted in damage to yours, who would pay for your damage? -

Slush boxes and caravans 15 Dec 2003 (Forum)
My uncle is a keen caravanner but is getting on a bit and fancies an automatic. There is a Nissan Silvia on offer that he likes. This is a 1.8 auto and a small car. He owns a small 2 berth caravan but it is very old (and so)heavy. I think this is madness. I do not believe that autos and caravans mix in any case as you do not have the control you need. Plus as small a car as this is not designed for towing and I belive he will just destroy the torque converter. -
A3 1.8T engine stalling 3 Jul 2003 (Forum)
I have a 4 year old Audi A3 1.8T that has developed a engine problem. When pulling away, or at low speed, the car will either shudder violently or stall. Even at higher speeds (eg 60 mph) you can still feel the odd vibration going through the car. -
Clunking windows(doors) 12 Jun 2003 (Forum)
After cleaning of my Citroen C5 with a very strong car shampoo (label states 'for heavily soiled and greasy cars') the windows (or doors or both) have started to clunk and creak. Its worse after rain. It seems to me that it is caused by somehow dried up windowrubbers or doorrubbers. -
Coolant Level 10 Jun 2003 (Forum)
Apologies for my ignorance. Car is eight years old over 100k. If fill the coolant level up via the expansion tank and you overfill, I assume that the excess will drain out and via the overflow pipe when the car gets going. Now the question I have is. 1. -

shogun airbags 5 Mar 2003 (Forum)
Having looked through the archive this matter has been raised on more then one occasion with other cars but none for a shogun. The reason for asking is that I am picking up the car end of this week and although asking the garage to disable it I would like to check that has been disabled before I put the little fella on the front seat (2 months old, rear facing seat) Thanks! -

I know this is boring...but I am really p****d off with my Astra and wish I hadn't bought a Vauxhall! It is just over 2 years old and I usually have reasonably nice cars... It is so bad now that I want to sell this after only 6 months...what would be a good 2nd hand car to get that looks good and drives well without costing the earth to fix? -
Still looking for that bargain BMW? 15 Jul 2002 (Forum)
It may be with the 30 or so already sneaking into the compound at Manheim Auctions Leeds! Probably your best choice of 1-5 year old genuine cars, nice mix of models/spec & well presented. The next BMW Financial Services sale is 12 August, usually upwards 80 cars & you don't have to be a dealer! Get your Parkers price guide dusted off!! -
Cars on forecourt for more than a year 19 Oct 2008 (Forum)
I thought that the general practice or best business practice was to get rid of cars that had not sold after a number of days for the best possible price even if it meant making a loss on that particular car? Is there any reasons why a dealer would want to keep such old stock? -
SORN my second car? 11 May 2020 (Forum)
Still insured. It was my intention to sell my second car car, but I am not sure what to do about that. It is an old car, so I will probably get £600 for it. It is handy, in case my main car breaks down..... For peace of mind, don't mind paying the insurance. -

What cars make the best taxi? 23 Sep 2011 (Forum)
What cars do you often see as taxi's in your area? Theres alot of old 406 HDi's round here, some new Mondeo's and estate variants. The odd Volvo. What surprises me is how the Prius which i reviewed a few weeks ago isnt more commonly used as one, specifically in cities. -

Is now a bad time to buy a car? 30 Jan 2009 (Forum)
I am currently car less as I have sold my old one. I heatr about all these new schemes designed to encourage us to buy new cars. I have £1500 to spend. I am worried if I buy one now in 3 months time these new easy loans will send the price of older cars tumbeling if new ones are much cheaper to get hold off.
