  I am a private buyer in the market for an audi a3, around five years old. Which is going to be better value ebay or auction, bearing in mind i will have to pay auction fees on top of purchase price. I was looking to purchase genuine main dealer part exchange if buying from auction

  After hours (there's so much on these carbs) reading about the multitude of issues + remedies regarding the 2e2 I figured I'd post my issues with the hope someone might be able to point me in the right direction  So it's an Audi 80 b2 1.8 with the Pierburg 2e2. Bought the car in October and all in all it seems like a good un. So... the issues. Seller told me that sometimes it cheats or over-runs on ignition off.

  Whilst stationary in queuing traffic My Audi A3 was hit by another vehicle sustaining body panel damage to the rear offside quarter wheel arch.  I was able to drive home. The other driver reported it to their insurer (Admiral) as did I, and Admiral accepted responsibility to repair the damage their customer caused to my vehicle.

    Hi there    Bought car from Audi 10 months ago.  Coming to end of warranty.  Had it in for some work and I noticed the electronic oil gauge said too full, remove some oil.  I have not had a warning message.  Mentioned this to the garage.

    Unfortunately, as link said, my batteries had leaked through to the cicuit board and damaged it beyond repair. I phoned Audi for part, £84 plus VAT. two days wait. As I would have to wait for the part, I decided to fit the new siren externally in the boot space, not hidden away, so adjusted the wiring and mounting bracket.

  have a 99 Audi A3 1.8T petrol (AGU engine) the car has just done 100,000 miles I have recently been having an intermittent problem. I can be driving along normally then for no apparent reason when I accelerate the car hesitates and feels as if its missfiring, it lasts for varying amounts of time then disappears.

  I had a completely no blame accident a week ago, where I was rear -ended in my 1996 Cabrio.I purchased this car about 6 monrhs ago for 5500. Since then it has had a brand new Audi hood costing 3000. It also has personalised plates. I have just spoken to the insurance assessor, who said it "should be a categoy D write -off as you can no longer get a boot floor for this particular make of car."

  It is superbly made and extremely comfortable.I have read that the ride is harsh.I think the rear space is a bit tight. The Audi A4 is nearing the end of it's life span before they do a change ( I love the looks). The BMW 3 series is a superb car; but I fancy the new Merc. I see the Audi A4 is much cheaper to service though.

  Selling my (nearly) three-year olds Mini Cooper with lots of extras; it cost over 23K but have only been offered £10,200 for part exchange with Mini and £10,800 with Audi. Has moved me to tears as only 6,000 on clock and in perfect condition. Sign.

  We have £7k budget to buy a family car and thinking of either a diesel 09 Citreon C5 or an older BMW/Audi diesel. Moneys tight so needs to be reliable, with low servicing costs etc. Does anyone have any alternatives?

  Thanks for comments on the Audi TT (previous thread). I'm looking to trade my FTO in this year for a convertible but I'm really struggling to decide which one. I've got 16-18K to spend and want something with a bit of performance (like the FTO), a bit of class and about 2-3 years old.

  I know a bloke who is looking for the plastic undertray that sits under the engine in the old shape Audi A4 TDI. VAG are looking £225 for a replacement. Other than VAG breakers any bright ideas?? As far as I am concerned these are to reduce noise and improve MPG with better areodynamics, True / Fasle ??

  Inspected an Audi 1.8 16v for a friend over the weekend. 94k with full VAGSH. All ok except that the chain linking the cams I feel is noisy. What is involved with replacing this item. I plan to do it when I give it a full service and all fluid change.

  Audi A4 sline 2007 170 bhp Hi there, I was just wondering if anyone can offer me some advise. Last week I took my Audi into the garage because of an engine management light and loss of power. They had it for most of the day and replaced the EGR valve but then removed it again as it hadn't fixed the issue.
