  Hi Daughter is importing her car into the UK and wants me to fit an MPH speedo. Does any one know, if I get a second hand one does it retain the mileage when removed or pick up the mileage when fitted? Any info gratefully received.

  It ruins the look of the car and serves no purpose. I remember when it signified that you had a car that was imported from Japan. Anyone care to explain why this is becoming increasingly popular.

  Have had a price of £14,500 for a new Megane coupe Dynamique that has been imported from Cyprus. Is this value for money? Is there anything that I should be aware of, any pit falls on this deal? I have been told by the salesman that it has a full 3-year British warranty - is this true?

  £12,000 for a new Legacy 2.0 RE @ Motorpoint seems a good buy. However these are imported via Malta/Cyprus Are any BR aware of differences in spec etc that takes the edge off a £4,000 saving? I was told that you have to have the car serviced more often and that the cars are not undersealed (no snow & ice in Malta!)

  I understand you cant test drive the car, and haggling is pretty much not available (given that they have low prices anyway). I've also heard of cars being imports without paperwork, or dents etc, but I wondered if they get a raw deal?

  Caught an item on the radio to-day where Red Ken got a taxi from the Labour Party Conference (I think, didn't get it all) back to London at a cost of £240, the tab to be picked up by London's taxpayers. Seems he couldn't use public transport as he was in a hurry to attend "Some Important Meetings". That's all right then.
