  • BMW 3 Series Coupe - Bad Experience Cargiant AA Warranty 20 Jul 2013 (Forum)
But the AA peaple said that these components are not covered and also the labour is not covered so they will not pay. I told them when the Cargiant sold me this product they showed me this leaflet, which I still have, and clearly says the warranty includes Engine, Fuel System, Working Materials, etc.
  • Toyota Avensis Verso D4D fades badly 1 May 2010 (Forum)
A mechanic friend told me a small pipe on it that sent a signal (as pressure or vacuum, something to do with the turbo) should be cleaned out after a time. I have suggested to her that she ask if there is something similar on her car. Or that it may be that there is a sensor or electrical actuator that is no longer working properly and the diagnostic check only covers it as regards continuity or lack of, doesn?t check its function.
  • Replacing CV boot (VW Golf II) 7 Mar 2006 (Forum)
I have acquired a 3/4" drive bar and 30mm socket for the hub nut. I have balljoint splitters (the clamp sort). Never done this before on any car. The Haynes manual doesn't cover the job exactly, but it seems to suggest I need to remove the 32mm hub nut, unbolt the gearbox side, and remove the driveshaft. I haven't got in there yet to have a look, but do I really need to do this?
  • BMW 323i Air con broken down 2000 reg 24 Jun 2004 (Forum)
Having talked to the garage they say that they can't find a leak (they apparently couldn't spot any dye that they claim was put in at the first recharge) and that they will need to change the condenser, some other stuff (they specified it better than that but I'm crap at cars and the note is still at work ;)) and then recharge it again. When buying the vehicle I took out a warranty, but this doesn't cover wear and tear. The indications I've received from the garage and the warranty company is that the problem is likely to be due to just wear and tear.
  • Mazda CX-30 - Battery problems 22 May 2023 (Forum)
Anyway, I contacted my dealer to ask if I they could do a battery check and they said they could but it would be £132! I asked if this would be covered under warranty as the car is only two and a half years old and they said they didn't know and it would have to be taken up with the warranty company.  Ultimately I an not sure what to do.
  • MINI Clubman D - Difficulty Rejecting Mini 19 Jul 2024 (Forum)
I'm obviously still unhappy with the car and have been going at the dealership that sold me the car over the past month trying to argue my case for rejection of the car but am now hitting a stone wall being told that 'the car was sold over 6 months ago and we have repaired all the damage'.
  • Neither - Omoda5 and Mazda CX30 Jaecoo J7 7 Feb 2025 (Forum)

  • Honda Civic Type R 2016 - Extended makers warranty. 13 Feb 2019 (Forum)
Pity Honda only covered the car for 3 years from new, when Toyota offer 5, but we are where we are, it would only take one of the huge front calipers to seize and that would be the warranty cost in one hit. Do you think its reasonable or have you any other suggestions before she signs up?
  • Any - Parking Eye Payment by Credit Card 12 May 2018 (Forum)
Yesterday I had the misfortune to use a car park managed by Parking Eye. I saw their cameras after I had entered the car park. I paid the fee online by credit card (mobile telephone internet), they added a 30p service charge, I thought such fees for payment by card are now banned?
  • Ford Orion audio joystick and other 80s oddities... 7 Oct 2017 (Forum)
So many brilliant automotive ideas have come and gone over the years, but one that stands out for me was the joystick provided to buyers of GL and Ghia badged Mark 1 Ford Orions to "aim" the full-on stereo sound to a chosen point in the car's interior. Never seen it since then, although I do remember having partially shattered eardrums from dodgy amplifier set-ups in friends' cars, usually with a graphic equaliser as part of the package.
  • Mazda CX-5 - Diesel in oil 20 Feb 2017 (Forum)
Diesel in the oil, level seems to rise to the x on the dipstick just over every 3,000miles I have called Mazda UK and they tell me there is no issue with my model and no recall, still awaiting on the manager returning my call, it may take up to 3 days that's customer service for you from Mazda, yet I have paperwork with campaign AD016A replaced dipstick & reprogrammed PSM, unfortunately just over another 3,000miles covered and the oil level is just about touching the x on the new dipstick fitted. Car has now got 7,200miles going in for the second time can anyone give advice? My advice if you are thinking of buying a Mazda cx5 2.2d with the problems and experience I have had with the car I loved, don't buy one until Mazda comes clean with the problem that's imaginary ?
  • Daewoo Lanos - Wheel bearing warrenty 13 Jan 2016 (Forum)
Hello there Just before Christmas one of the rear wheel bearings failed on on my car (awful loud grinding noise, not just the humming of a old bearing). That particular bearing had been replaced at the end of July (2015) through the MOT. I had presumed it would be covered under warranty but the garage has told me it isn't and along with the bearing the axle stub joint needed replacing. £170 to fix.
  • Peugeot 1007 - Peugeot 1007 Dead Locked 17 Sep 2014 (Forum)
The key will not electrically or manually open the doors. I have seen suggestions that you can jack the car up to remove the engine cover and connect jump leads to the starter motor to start it or get the electrics working and open the doors. Only problem is, the car was left in gear so it will jump forward and won't start anyway.
  • Vauxhall Corsa - Electric windows 21 Mar 2014 (Forum)
They both went up again when I used the switch. My wife thinks she has heard the noise before when she has used her key to unlock the car  and has sat in the passenger seat prior to my coming out but isnt certain. I have notified Vauxhall in case my Network Q covers this or, failing that, if the garage want to check it out on a goodwill basis.
  • SEAT Toledo - Leaky rear doors on nearly new car 23 Oct 2013 (Forum)
I have a nearly new (11 month old) SEAT Toledo. One of the rear doors fills up with water whenever it rains - large amounts of it sloshing around....
  • BMW 3 Series Coupe - Noisy Diesel Engine 20 May 2013 (Forum)
My BMW 3 Series Coupe 2.0Diesel Sport Automatic on a 57 Plate has full main agent BMW service History. It went in for a service and I was informed the engine was noisy. Thankfully the car has the BMW Exttended warranty, the car has covered 47,000 miles.  I must give credit to the service centre at BMW Park Lane at Stewarts Road, Battersea, who diagnosed the problem immidiately and who provide an exceptional level of service.
  • I love my S-Max but.... 29 Oct 2012 (Forum)
The S-Max will be 3 years and nine months old in May when I would have owned it for three eyars and will have covered about 44,000 miles.  I love the car for the way it drives like a seven seat Ferrari, the comfort of the seats, the reliability, the huge range of options it came with which I would hate to be without now such as ventilated seats, Xenon headlights, cornering lights etc etc.
  • Honda Civic - Brake Wear 6 Mar 2012 (Forum)
Why would the rear discs corrode and not the front on a regularly used car? Should the rear discs be covered by warranty? Thanks in advance. Durelli.
  • '03 Ford Focus TDCI - Sudden loss of power 22 Jul 2011 (Forum)
The sensor costs about 20 quid and is easily replaced by undoing the single bolt which attaches it to the cam cover.  Might be worth a try if your Focus fails under similar circumstances! Cheap to fix, but added to the catalogue of faults my car has developed in the last 5 years I can't see me buying another Ford diesel!
