  For various reasons I need a big estate car,  with space, economy and reasonable performance. I'm presently running my third SAAB 95 but what else really fits the bill for load swallowing and comfort .... ?

  The North East has been shrouded in fog and mist today. Unsurprisingly, many cars have been running with no lights or side lights only. The weird thing is that fewer cars than usual had their fog lights switched on.

  Are there any standards for the surfaces of the various road classifications? Some parts of the A1031 running south from Grimsby are really poor. It must be the worst A road in Britain. I can hardly believe it's classed as an A road.

  As a result of searching this forum we have cured the slow running problem with our Jazz by having a replacement EGR valve fitted free of charge and outside the 3 year warranty by our Honda dealer. Result!

  I have just bought a 1995 1.5 diesel (63000 mile) peugeot 106, towards the end of a 100 mile journey it developed a "knocking" noise- present when idling and running. Is this terminal?

  Anyone know what that building is that's going up on the verge between M4 J11/10 eastbound? I've only seen it from the B3270 that runs alongside the motorway at that point, but it just looks like a small house. John

  My wives volvo 480 has an engine cooling fan which continues going well after the engine has stopped: in fact it has recently run the battery flat. Any ideas?

  The clutch on my old triumph is stuck.The pedal moves as normal., yet when the engine is running I fail to get it into gear .IF i try and start the car in gear with the clutch depressed it lurches forwards Will towing it free it?
