  Yesterday while reversing the car off the drive I heard a squeeking / light grinding noise. For the next couple of miles of driving the noise disappeared but then returned, albeit less noisy. We had the rear brake pads changed about 500 miles ago (Honda parts).

  If buying a car at a large car auction privately, is it possible to obtain the full V5 or the green slip when purchased so that the car can be taxed for the drive home? Or does the auction send off the complete V5 to the DVLA? If they do, how will it be possible to tax the car to drive it home as most cars at auction don't seem to be taxed.

  Hi All, I am thinking of buying a diesel car. I drive mainly urban for about 40 min, the max. speed is 30mph and the distance 10 miles (one way). With this particular type of daily commute will I have trouble with the DPF? In your reply, please include the make and model, the rev, duration and speed the manufacturer recommends that you drive for the DPF to regenerate.

  I have a new neighbour 3 doors up and he has a customised Impreza. Now when he starts engine it is left idling for a while before he drives away. Both whilst it is idling and driving, the noise it makes is ridiculous. You can feel it vibrate through the house, it is enough to waken you. This is exhaust / engine noise, not radio! Is there rules on how noisy cars can be?
